    No

You applied for a non-o visa that will allow a 90 day stay in the country. When your return on June 7th will do the visa stamp and a new entry stamp for 90 days. Then during the last 30 days of the 90 days your can apply for a one year extension of stay.

So the date they want me to return on the ' under consideration' note in my passport is a Saturday the 4th June would the Friday the 3rd be ok. This is important to me as I will be  on holiday in Pattaya and will need to travel up to Chiayaphuum.

Thanks Joe, he gave  me a return date of 4th of June which is a Saturday. Should I return on the Friday 3rd or Monday 6th?

  3. I returned to Chiayaphuum immigration today with everything prepared for a one year extension.

First a junior member checked my paperwork and I filled in TM87.

Saying I wanted a 90 day extension based on marriage.

Next to another member of staff behind the main counter. He than told us to take a seat and the most senior member of staff showed me my passport and said comeback 4th of June. Inside my passport is a ' under consideration' sticker. He said just comeback with your passport. So they went straight from Covid extension to a Non O for one year is that correct!

    Think this is misunderstanding.

You can obtain a non O marriage that gives you a 90 day permission of stay and in the last 30 days you can apply for 12 month extension.

Your extension will have an under consideration period.

Thanks, I will see what happens on the 17th, though she said we will do one year next time. Maybe translation problem.

  5. I entered Thailand on 10th January on Visa exempt.

I went to Chiayaphuum immigration where I have been given 2 COVID based visa extension until June 8th.

Although I had all the necessary paperwork to do the nonO based on marriage I was given a second COVID extension and told to come back on 17th May when I was to submit paperwork for one year non O visa.

My question is what about the 90 day nonO visa as they stated come back for one year visa. Is there a period of time after this is submitted, ' under consideration'

  6. I waited about a month to get an appointment at the UK Embassy ,Bangkok. Then after getting the affidavit translated and verified into Thai at the MFA , we walked in to the local  Amphoe  and were married in about an hour.

The UK Embassy may check your details after your affidavit is issued and if they were untrue then your marriage would presumably be invalid but there was no waiting after your appointment at the Embassy.

The six years should have shown you that when you marry a Thai girl, you marry her family, more so in the more rural areas and assuming that there's no sugar cane cutting in Bangkok, you could be up for quite a lot of 'tea money'.

No more money coming from me, in that area made it quite clear.

From my personal experience, that's the thin end of the wedge.

How much are you into this girlfriend of yours?

I have known her for 6 years, stayed with her many times marrying when papers come through this week.

Her boys probably smoked it last night and tested positive.

The cheapest option I think if it goes to court, maybe 20000 Baht.

They have a history of using it, maybe they asked for their names and then see their record. Then it's a nice little bit for their tea money.

  9. My girlfriend has just sent 4000 Baht to the police for them to test her sons who were in a car coming back home after cutting sugar.

Why does she have to pay this is it a scam?

She has paid the money from the local shop and I said I would not pay as they could stop and make anybody pay.

    Opinions please.

I would not recommend accepting this. Others have run into problems relying on hospitals to notify them if there was "a problem".

Go to the hospital and request a copy of the lab result. They can provide it is you ask firmly and politely.

Then send it to your Test & Go hotel

Thanks Sheryl I took your advice got a paper  test negative with stamp and sent it to my 1 night test and go hotel.

Hopefully that's all that's required as although I have morchana app I cannot post onto it.

  11. I went for the day 5 to 7 test at a hospital in Chiayaphuum and showed them the pink slip after a while I heard them mention test and go. They took my passport and details of the 1 night quarentine hotel.

I signed a couple of papers then they took the PCR test.

They gave me no papers and said they would phone result to my fiancee. After 3 days she called the hospital and they said if ok then maybe they don't call.

So this 5 to 7 day result is a different process depending on where you go maybe the result was sent to my hotel where I stayed one night.Bottom line is they will have a record of me completing requirement as they processed papers before the PCR test.

I sent many emails as well as I found the online booking system to be ridiculous, but to be fair they never took the actual 10 days to respond it was around 3 or 4 days each time.

I didn't find phoning them particularly helpful, they would never book me a slot on the phone I just by chance tried it on my laptop and then it worked.

They replied to my email today and same day explaining they know there is a p RT oblem using smartphone. Tomorrow I will go to a computer shop and try to book appointment using that.

    Many thanks for your help

Did this not long ago so I can help,

There is a issue when trying to book an appointment (with your phone) via there online booking slot, if you use a Laptop it will allow to book a appointment but in my experiance at the end of November booking an appointment within 1 week wasn't a option I had to wait for over 2 weeks.

Many thanks the system is not working. I sent an email and they take up to 10 days to reply to your email telling them this Fact.

I have a max of 59 days with extension. Thought I could achieve this in one week. I need to go to chiayphuum to see fiance. Then I will have to return to Bangkok to get affidavit.

I will have to locate a laptop.

I assume you have been on the page of the embassy website. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/notarial-and-documentary-services-guide-for-thailand

Some things are done by post now.

I phoned them submitted an email but it takes up to 10 days to respond to my request that the embassy online application  will not let me make an appointment. I fear the worst here as the delay will make it difficult to do with visa exempt and extension.
