  1. That would depend upon the IO! Having lived in Thailand for almost 10 years on a Non-B, I went back to Thailand on my 1st visa-exemption this year and that by land, left and flew back to DMK 4 months later, when I got stopped by the IO, who started to ask me why I had had so many Thai stamps in my passport. I answered him that it was just because I had lived in Thailand on a Non-B for the last 10 years, but then I got taken to the office, where another officer that attended me was so rude and arrogant! All I had to do was fill in a form where I had to write the reason for visiting Thailand again, They let me in in the end, with nothing written or stamped in my passport except the entry stamp! I was never ever worried that I might be denied entry, though! No other passenger was at Passport Control when I got there after the toilet, so the IO, who seemed young and unprofessional to me, must of killed his time by acting bossy to me! Good luck!
  2. Hi, First of all, where are you going to apply for a new Non-B? To Vientiane or Savannakhet in Laos? There was one time that I went all the way to Vientiane via NongKhai with a termination letter from my old school, whom I had cancel my WP. Yes, you should cancel your current Non-B and WP with your old school before applying for new ones with your new school!
  3. 1. Do a border bounce to Laos I don't know how much you'll have to pay for a Lao visa on arrival but it should be around 1,400B if it costs around US$40. 2. Get an extension 1,900B 3. Pay for your overstay when you fly out 1,500B (500B x 3 days) I hope you don't get caught on your way to the airport, though.
  4. Thanks for your info! Does that mean that citizens of countries under bilateral agreement are entitled to unlimited visa-exempt entries like Brasil or Peru as well as Russia?
  5. Thanks very much for all your comments/reports! I heard that Russian Passport Holders are allowed many visa-exempt entries even by land, though. Do you know what nationalities are eligible for them?
  6. Hi All, Supposing that you're based in one of the neighbouring countries such as Cambodia or Laos, would you still be allowed to enter Thailand by land up to only twice per calendar year? That's what I'm curious to know about. Thank you in advance!
  7. FYI, Bus #152 should still cost 5,000vnd (22cents), cheaper than bus #109.
  8. I just arrived in Ubon Ratchathani from BKK this morning, making me think of ubonjoe. I still can't believe that he's not here any more..
  9. Hi All, I'd like to dispose of my PC that I never use again. Do you know how to dispose of it or where to take it to erase my personal data on it? Thank you in advance.
  10. Hi, I just found this post now. This must be too late for you but I do hope that it helps tourists who are thinking of travelling this route in the future. The info I'm going to give you now is a bit old, so please double-check it. As for Bo-Y border, it's open to the international tourists, too, but I'm not sure about the visa stuff because I don't need one to enter VN or Laos. As for how to get to the border from Nha Trang, there were buses to Pleiku (or 'Gia Lai' as locals call) and onto Kon Tum, where you could change all the way to Pakse in Laos. (I'm pretty sure you'd have to spend a night in either of those 2 VN towns.) I read some post, reporting that there are lots of buses going to the border for a visa run now so there might be direct buses from Nha Trang. I'm not sure. It's a long way (more than 400km) and could take 10hrs each way, though. The last town in VN before the border is 'Ngọc Hồi' and the first town in Laos after that is 'Attapeu.' I have taken a local bus to the border from Kon Tum and another one from Attapeu to Ngọc Hồi once before. Hope that helps.
  11. So sad to hear about the news I'm at a loss for words now.. I don't even remember how many times he has helped me by answering my questions, not only in the posts but also in my personal messages, and this is his last message back to me on how long I should spend in Malaysia before coming back to Thailand by land last March. I can't even believe my ears when I heard about the news.. You were my / our hero!! R.I.P. ubonjoe
  12. And get ready for the ban on selling alcohol starting the night before The Election Day (probably at 6pm) !
  13. Hi, When I flew Scoot to Penang from Osaka, Japan via Singapore last year, I was asked at the check-in counter if I had an onward ticket out of Malaysia. I answered that I didn't because I was going to Thailand from there by land. And then the ground staff member asked if I had a credit card (just in case I should end up having to buy a ticket to go back to Japan after getting denied entry into Malaysia without the ticket on me). And I answered yes before she issued a ticket to me. Hope that helps.
