  1. I have an older Mitusbishi aircon unit that has failed twice for the run capacitor.  The first guy who replaced it charged 600 Baht (I think) and the second guy charged 800 the other week.  While It's fair that a compnent of the price to fix it should cover the labour, how much should a capacitor actually cost?  I feel confident (and competent) to at least check and change the capacitor myself the next time.  If I buy one now and keep it on hand, it could help avoid an hot sticky night's sleep I we need to wait for a technician at the wrong time of year.

It's a 25uF 450V capacitor but the tech used a 30UF so not sure what it  should be.  I've looked on Lazada and I've seen prices from 100 baht up to 500 or more.  Is there anything "special" about the run capacitors or can I just buy the cheap ones?

What Graphic card do you have and what are you looking for.

These components are quite expensive now with the crypto mining business and the shortage of chips worldwide.

Don't know how a fake graphic card looks, what is the problem with the one you bought?

"Fake" graphics cards are fairly common these days.  They are usually older models that have been reprogrammed to pretend to be a newer one,  When you try to install the drivers for the card it is pretending to be, you run into mulitple issues.

A big giveway is if the card has a VGA/Dsub port.  These have not been present on NVidia cards for a few years now,

    Another layman's question .....

How much should I be paying in THB to get the hard drive taken out of my old laptop so I can transfer everything across to the new one?

Depending on the exact model — 0 baht.   If you search on YouTube you may find that it is quite easy.  Then buy an enclosure from Lazada.

I have seen them for sale online here for as little as 80 baht...do they work real or not?

IMO, I would stay away from ones that are that cheap.

The sources that some of the YouTube channels I watch recommend are cdkdeals or scdkey but I can't personally recommend anywhere.

The caveat is that some of these sites actually sell old W7 or W8 keys (which are still legit) and it's a little more tricky to get to work sometimes.

Fair amount of YouTube, some larger photo files. Could probably get away with 150GB a month or less I would think.

For that usage case, userabcd's router suggestion (or similar)  will work well. Then you can try different SIM card providers to see what works best in your location.  In theory, this will probably be the one with the closest line of sight tower.

  6. What do you need the connection for?  Email?  YouTube? HD streaming?

Also, how much are you going to use it?  1 hour a day or all day every day?

The answers to these questions will affect the speed you need as well as data usage (many plans have caps).  These will in turn help work out a suitable package (if any).

  7. What do intend to use the PC for?

For simple everyday use such as email, YouTube and word processing both would be "ok" but both would also benefit massively from an SSD for the system drive.

Is the RAM a single stick?  2 8GB sticks would be much better.

You will need to give much more information about your actually needs/use/budget for anyone to help you properly.

Have you got one of those buckets where you spin the mop in the bucket to rinse.

Looks like part of the bucket spinner.

    Yes,

We have been through a few different ones but comparing it to the current one we have now, I reckon that is what it is!

    Cheers!
