Haha 2 entries but one was a 15 month covid stay
WOW, very very likely denied entry in the way your talking about. Now if you spend 1 month in vietnam and get a thai tourist visa your chances are much better but not 100%. I was similar to you and barely got in with a tourist visa after being out for 1 month in two different countries.

Only 1 entry in your passport to thailand? Youll be fine no need worry how long in vietnam

any recent reports ?

just getting back to 2019 numbers in 2027 will be difficult

Good news man, and glad you got a good officer. I was denied once with a tourist visa by a female officer as they thought i didnt have enough money to support myself in thailand which was total bs.

on booking the small room costs from 22000 - 30000, that is ridiculous
Welcome to modern chiang mai, the glory days passed long ago. Now its an overrun tourist ghetto that mainly extracts money from foreigners. Also keep in mind most hotels do not have kitchens. You want a kitchen you'll need an airbnb but expect to pay 20-30k per month for a shoe box.
Also dont forget about 1000-2000 baht for an air purifier in your room so you dont feel ill everyday.

Even at Chiang Mai airport? I thought they were relatively easy compared to Phuket and both bangkok airports
Yes even Chiang Mai, they strongly disliked I used covid extensions to stay a while during the pandemic thats why I am curious how it will go for you.

I'll be interested to see how it goes with the tourist visa, its a good thing but not a guarantee for entry. I would bet you still get grilled with questions but if you keep your cool you should be able to enter. Please do come back and update us as to what happens.

Unfortunately the good ol days have passed long ago. Your really rolling the dice now. If you already have several visits to thailand in your passport, expect to be denied entry.

This has to be a mistake, there were about 80k and 90k US arrivals in Nov and Dec 2022. The US has never ever had anywhere near the stated 240k in a month during the peak years in 2018-2019.

He was a very smart man and kind soul who had a falling out with his beautiful wife in America. He left his wife and one child and moved to Pattaya, Thailand. Ever since the split with his family his life had been in a bit of a downward spiral but he seemed to have been getting it together lately in Pattaya and restarting his youtube channel. God only knows what happened. RIP Leo, you will be missed greatly.

the AQI is bad 12 months per year and has been for many years. you accept that or find another country.

What is that meaning?
Immigration don't like tourists staying in LOS too long as the suspicion is that they are working illegally.
I would think leaving for a month several times per year then coming back thats a legit tourist, what job in thailand would allow that ?

I just had trouble getting into DMK with a tourist visa from penang and I had been out of the country for a full month too in two different countries. But still taken away for questioning and providing documents. Ultimately I got in, but its really unsettling. It has me looking for other countries to go to. Too much hassle and stress for a normal tourist. Also they put my onward flight in the computer, what is that meaning?

You were briefed, that's normal. Good that you had a flight ticket onward and cash in hand. I would also show accommodation for the sake of it.
What did you have inside your passport? I'm on a non-immigrant visa, and have only utilized covid extension 2 times prior. I'm thinking of a 1 week trip to KL and back to BKK.
I had a tourist visa and a few covid extensions but thats it. Because you have a lot of time in thailand your asking for big problems with this method. You can roll the dice but be prepared for the worst case scenario. Your coming in on a visa exempt tourist entry but they know and you know your not really a tourist, thats the problem .

Really?
What happened, and whats your situation.Im just a tourist. I went to KL for 2 weeks, tried to fly back into CM direct for a visa exempt entry. They were upset with me and wanted to send me back to KL or my home country. They took me to a back room, and i had to explain everything. What saved me is i showed them a flight ticket out to Korea and 30,000 baht cash in my wallet. If i didnt have this no way they would have let me in.

I'm thinking perhaps avoiding flying to Bangkok, and choose either Surat Thani or Chiang Mai Airports to increase my odds of being allowed in. Any idea how restrictive they are in Bangkok compared to other places?
its over man, CM blew me up. they are all strict now.

Flew in and out of Indonesia (Bali) a month ago, so not quite sure what restrictions they have as it was all very normal.
You have two injections. To inject substances into your body to board that plane, thats called a restriction.

There is no set rule on this , depends on the office, time of year, mood of officer, etc.
