  1. Finished We Own This City and it was really great. Just like The Wire it has stuck with me and makes me want to watch it all over again. I’m listening to the podcast and may read the book now. Yellowjackets- I’m only two episodes in but this is so damn good!
  2. Duolingo is really useful when you’re first starting a language because of how accessible and gamified it is. Also I'd add: Memrise Breaking News English TED Talks YouTube
  3. Ordering from Amazon can be pretty damn pricey here considering both shipping cost(~$30+) & tax(~15%). Good clothes are hard but not impossible to find. Lazada is pretty much like Amazon here and I've been pretty happy with clothes from this particular store
  4. Hi. Late to the party but I tried this easy white keto bread recipe one yesterday. Pretty easy, just need a food processor. I didn't use any sweetener, and used tapioca starch instead of xanthan gum as my supermarket didn't have that.
  5. You're missing out on a lot of speed, more intuitive/convient interfaces, bigger/bezelless screen depending on the phone and much better camera quality. Durability and water resistance are something to consider. Cheaper phones use much less durable glass. Beyond that, cell reception and LTE speeds are better on higher end phones. But if those things aren't important and your phone gets it done for you then live your life, it's not an absolute necessity.
  6. In a sense, I think thinking like that opens us up to positive opportunities more, as in my mind, life is just a series of opportunities and chances. Of course it’s not enough to just dream about a new car all day and expect someone to randomly give you a new car, but if you’re thinking about it a lot, you’ll make choices that bring you closer to one. Maybe you're more careful with money because you’re saving for a new car or you just go to dealership "to look" and learn something that could help you buy. Doesn’t guarantee a new car, but it improves your chances compared to just assuming you’ll never have one and forgetting about it. It’s focus, not magic.
