  1. ..the majority of the causes of deaths of old people in facilities has been consistently recorded for decades by the facilties' general practitioner. Causes of Death are already predictable by each of their 'clients' medical history held on premises, and 'heart failure' and or 'chest infection' are added to the Death Certificate to make it nice and 'fuzzy' and acceptable by the families and authorities. Nice and easy; no post mortem and direct to a funeral. But, in amongst all that can be bacterium and viral infections that go undetected and have the potential to rip through a retirement village or aged care facility etc.

More and frequent testing is a must for all elderly folk, who are mixing still with young people ie their families on visitations and the US's fixation with birthday celebrations and every other family reunion is just a hot-bed for viruses.

In my local paper today in Colorado: "4 new deaths, 3 in their 80s and 1 in their 90s, all died while in long term care nursing homes".

The virus is killing people who were over their life expectancy and who were already indoors 24/7. How is this lockdown making any sense anymore???

So my wife and i have been complaining to the police for many years about 2 groups of people farming and living illegally on forest land in kanchanaburi. Just yesterday we learnt they are both police!. This country has real serious issues. We have had knives pulled on us and there is 12guage shotgun shells littering the surrounds of our property which have been used as scare tactics and intimidation for us to move out. We've been raided by police looking for anything illegal so i would be deported and my wife forced to leave. Countries a mess!!

..they just can't stop exploiting their fellow countryman...disgraceful behaviour..almost all i have met and have had dealings with (and that is quite a few), have little or know knowledge of the countries law; what they do in their Academy Training is anybodys' guess..but they sure know what extortion is all about.

Does anybody know there are webcams in Thai bars? I have read somewhere there are some bars with webcams where you can interact with the girls in a bar. They do this temporarily because of the Covid-19 situation. They were quite popular with tourists not being able to travel to Thailand and still having some feeling of travelling to Thailand because they are virtually in the bar. Can you give me some urls, names of the bars and how it works?  Thanks.

..best you do your own leg-work'.

  5. hmmm!...well they're yet to finish Stage II and are yet to begin Phase III trialling..which will take a minimum of two lots of 28 days, with a gap, needing a minimum of 25,000 volunteers..then follow-up testing, say another four months..forget herd immunity..even vaccinated it will be in your own interests to wear a mask and exercise social distancing forever as the WHO forecast for world-wide immunisation will only reach 60-70% of the Worlds' population.

Then you have to ask who made the vaccine, is it approved, is it just a spike type vaccine or a fully developed vaccine.

(I bet you we foreign guests will not get a look in as per poor farmers, labourers and other low income earners; you know, the ones that keep this country ticking).

The elite and other government seniors and civil servants will benefit along with the military and medical professionals, but as it filters down the social ladder it will become a user pay.

They seem to have it all back-to-front, yet again!

Good luck people, and keep your distance.

What's the point of this? The "paperwork" is just making copies of your passport and signing them, and also signing the form, which ladies at DLT will fill for you. There's usually a copy shop outside DLT. Unless you're trying to "convert" foreign DL, which may need to be translated.

Who does that anyway? Easier, cheaper and faster to get one from Immigration.

I got 2-year DL on tourist visa in Chiang Mai, no problem. Never had a driving license before.

..no-one translates foreign drivers licences..you need to transfer an International DL or apply for a new Thai DL.

Alcohol and drugs can make people do stupid things, in this case one girl is dead and 5 party members involved sentenced to 5 years in jail.

Be careful out there if you bring a drunk lady from the bar home with you and she pass out and die while you are sleeping.

5 years in Thai prison is not what you want in LOS.

Another nail in the coffin for Thailand as tourist destination?

...hmmm!...People do stupid things...alcohol/drugs do not make you do anything!

'the drunk lady' was forced to be drunk by people holding her mouth open and pouring the intoxicating liquor down her throat !!

Nothing to do with tourism as both are/were Thais.

This type of behaviour is common place in any city of the world.

Men behaving badly and being totally irresponsible more like it.

Drugs are illegal, what more can i say!

Alcohol should be consumed in moderation.

The accused took full advantage of her status and left her for dead.

Sort of blows your rendition out of the water...IMHO

Note also that when your 5 year licence expires, if you are on a 30 day entry or tourist visa you will only get a 2 year one

..i believe you cannot get a Drivers License unless you're on a one year extendable visa. (the reason i mentioned this is that the OP doesn't state what type of visa he is on).
