An international zone is a type of extraterritoriality governed by international law, or similar treaty between two or more nations. They can be found within international airports and can contain duty-free shopping. In areas of conflict there may be international zones called green zones that form protective enclaves to keep diplomats safe. Countries in conflict may also have international zones separating each other.

  2. R32) TWOV .... Transit Without Visa (TWOV): Passing through an international transit area of the airport in order to board a connecting (or to proceed by the same) flight, without entering the country (i.e. clearing immigration). Unless stated otherwise, passengers wishing to TWOV must: - be en-route to a third country (e.g. itinerary TYO-LON-TYO is not considered TWOV); - prove that they will continue their journey within the prescribed period (e.g. hold onward tickets); - have documents required for entry into the country of destination and for transit through countries en-route; - remain in the transit area (airside) or on the aircraft. Note: For transit purposes through China (People's Rep.), Hong Kong (SAR China) and Macao (SAR China) are considered as third countries, as they have their own entry regulations. Note: TWOV is not intended for those holding stand-by tickets, e.g. airline employees or other passengers travelling on industry discount. There was at least one similar thread about this (quite complicated matter).

You can also use this to check the official rules that the airlines refer to:

(doesn't matter that it is a KLM site, same for all, "timatic web")

    https://www.klm.com/travel/kz_en/prepare_for_travel/travel_planning/travel_clinic/visaform.htm

Thread would better be moved to the "Visas and migration to other countries" forum.

She was only in dublin for 2 & 1/2 hours transiting so not going through customs

Not always the case.  Even though in an international airport before you enter customs, you are still under the "jurisdiction" of that country.  That is why some countries require a transit visa.

I am only familiar with mainland China requiring it, but it appears that Ireland does to for certain countries.

yes different for some countries but if not say thailand ?

Arriving on 30 day and figuring it out from there.

take a break to laos or burma and get a tourist visa, visa and little hoilday  at the same time sorted job done

  8. If you have a full (not provisional),licence you can convert with minimal testing (eyesight and reaction ) they will give you a licence for motorcycle only if you UK licence has that entitlement if not you have to do the full test.

Motorcycle and car licenses are 2 physically separate pieces of plastic. Your can have one without the other.

I have both bike and car licence ( i have british licence ) and done both at the same time just eye sight and reaction. I did it beside BTS MORCHIT department of transport oppisite chatuchak park (market). What you need to do first is go to British embassy and get letter stating who you are then you need to get a medical (can get from any hospitial ,just walk in )then go to morchit bts and get taxi ( 5 mins away for BTS station) takes 1 1/2 hours to get both valid for 2 years.

Worst bit is you have to make an appointment online for the embassy to get a letter ,( you need your licence ,passport and proof of address in thailand)

  9. i have mine due on the 16/08/2016 2 ,two single entery stamp from Vientiane so watching this post closely ,havent had a red stamp and was thinking maybe Savanakhet for the third so any infomation apprceated . I live bangkok with my girlfriend but not married and we own condo ( i am british) and she works as a bankmanager with k bank.

I also think you should be fine. You'll get a 3rd for sure, it's also unlikely you'd get a red stamp...but at the 4th, the risk is much higher.

If your point is to avoid any red stamp at all cost, go to savannakhet.

Yes this is my point want to avoid the red stamp at all costs.
