  1. Heymondo. [email protected] Range of travel insurance for the under 70. All much cheaper than the suggested Thai government insurers...
  2. Swampy PCR 3hrs 3,500 baht RAT 1hr 550 Baht. That's at occicare.com/suvarnabhumi
  3. During last twelve months, airmail ex Australia (Melbourne & Sydney) to provincial Thailand: max duration 63 days, min 24 days. England to Thailand: min 6 days. Thailand to Australia (Melbourne) airmail: 22 days.
  4. ...and why are they asking for marriage certs etc for an extension of stay based on retirement?
  5. All of the above plus liberal topical application of Borax powder solution dissolved in water. Also works well for most ants: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/borax-1-i1321932759-s3286992095.html?exlaz=d_1:mm_150050845_51350205_2010350205::12:12654756915!117524295342!!!pla-294682000766!c!294682000766!3286992095!264055218&gclid=CjwKCAjwzOqKBhAWEiwArQGwaITVDfRRAblp77utASpA-tCiBSOQ2_o3tdN3Nhh3j-4Gtlq0eQRefxoCiecQAvD_BwE
  6. The article: an example of the Thai writer's astonishing ability to speak volumes whilst saying nothing that could conceivably cause offense. Thammanat - he's been known by at least three other names, so best to check the latest one - must be owed an enormous favour by someone of profound influence and extraordinary power...
  7. Similar story. Repeated problems with ATMs - whereas none before, using the same card, same ATMs. Contacted 'home' bank to eliminate that variable but card appears to be fine. Now use cash withdrawal inside the bank, using card and passport. I obscured the three digit CVC number, as the bank clerks habitually photocopy both sides of the card, plus all the usual Indian Civil Service style xeroxed duplication of signatures, contact details, passport information, etc. I've done the same process six times now, each time creating the same thin sheaf of paperwork. It's similar to visiting Immigration, except I walk away with more money than I had when I went in as opposed to paying - and oh - there's the occasional smile and 'kah' - both noticeably absent at immigration. Well worth the tolerant wait, knowing that you're depriving the bank of their ATM fees and instead getting them to do a bit of easy work.
  8. I feel so much safer now, knowing you're here as our moral guardian...
