It's someone who has (supposed) evidence against the RTP. Do you think this evidence has been provided by the Army? Interesting thought but I'm not sure the corrupt generals would want to start highlighting corruption at the highest levels. Remember there are levels above the RTP which are more corrupt. Again I say as I have for years on end this country is corrupt top to bottom. On the other hand there may be some veracity in what you say. They (military) might want these guys out of the way to insert their own stooges. Very interesting stuff indeed.

Cabinet green lights bills to modify alcohol control law
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I hope they pass this progrissive bill in full. The "it will be harmful to society" argument is complete and utter nonsence. Question: Does this have to be passed by the senate? -
Southeast Asian Journalists Unite Against Corruption
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If you took every corrupt official out of SE Asia the population would plummet. The entire region is very heavily corrupt. -
This will be very interesting. Hopefully someone has the goods on the military too. That would be a whole lot bigger than the top BIB. Clean out the senate and parliament of the corrupt and then possibly Thailand could start to move forward. The corrupt elites must be thinking very hard about all this. I said yesterday the police thing is only a very small portion of the tip of a very large iceberg.

PM Srettha: Legalise casinos to save Thailand’s economy
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think you've got this wrong. They'll be there from the start and more than likely involved in the setting up and construction. Apart from that casinos are great washing machines. -

Scenario. Casinos built near boarders. Chinese flood in, gamble, and take winnings back across the border. -

Police chief takes down lawyer for bribery charge
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No suprise here. Attack is the best defence guilty or not. This will be interesting in what can only be a true Samson and Goliath battle. I feel it would be true to say that almost the entirety of the population will be on Sittra's side and equally confident that the majority of the population believe his claims. -

Rising risk of influenza and dengue amid Covid-19 warns DDC
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Agree. Being that covid will be around for decades to come I would suggest at least 1 possibly 2 boosters a year. Let's face it with a projected death toll of 852 people out of 71,801,279 it certainly is better to be safe than sorry. Of course the safety of the mRNA vaccines has now been shown to be highly questionable. Risk covid, basically now a non-severe virul infection or risk vaccine injury? My choice is clear. No more jabs for me that's for sure. -
Bangkok scorched at 38°C with thunderstorms looming
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There have been severe weather warnings for at least the last 3 wks with no severe weather resulting. If anything so far the hot season hasn't been that hot IMO. As for summer storms one last week (nice storm for about an hr in Kanachanaburi where I was at the time) but that's been about it. -
Thai labour unions criticise new daily minimum wage
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
To afford a minimum payrise to a minority and only in specific areas and a particular sector of a single industry is just ludicrous beyond words. -

Bangkok scorched at 38°C with thunderstorms looming
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Where I am now just outside of Bangkok the humidity is 55% (I'm guessing wet bulb=humidity) and the temp is 35°C. Overnight min of 27°C with today's max being 36°C. Average hot season weather. -
Bangkok scorched at 38°C with thunderstorms looming
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not disagreeing. The temps they mention are to the standard of temperature taken in the shade. Sure there is humidity to take into account and what it now referred to as "feels like" temperature but that doesn't change the fact that the temps in the article and almost every day articles about "THE HEAT WAVE", SCORCHING HEAT", BLISTERING HEAT" etc. are basically average hot season temperatures. Nothing unusaul at all. -

HOT SEASON!!!!!!!!!!! >40-45C for several days running then they would have a story. As it is it's a NON-STORY about average hot season temperatures. Edit: Actually tepms of >40C for days on end isn't that unusual during the hot season. -

Thai lawyer uncovers police-linked bribery network

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Hired hitman at arms length. Hitman disappears with no paper or electonic trail. Case not long ago exactly like this. Can't remember details but was on this forum. -

Thai lawyer uncovers police-linked bribery network

Yes, we all know that corruption is endemic here but this is still a big story. It is though IMO only the tip of a gigantic iceberg. Serious corruption in Thailand goes higher and much wider than this.
