  1. I smoke Camel "blue" and changed to this brand after the last tax increase a few years ago. Price before the increase last month was 60B per pack and the price has remained the same when I bought 2 cartons last week. I only buy at 7-11s here in Hua Hin.
  2. To the OP, that's very interesting. I also live in Hua Hin and successfully registered on the "expatvac" website (with no subsequent rejection email like some posters on previous threads). I registered 10 days before you on Aug 14 and have received absolutely nothing from anyone (email or otherwise) following my registration confirmation. I am 63 years old with no medical conditions. Oh well, luck of the draw I guess. That said, I think those giving praise to the gov't and/or hospitals once they have become one of the "chosen ones" is a bit much. Especially considering examples like this one.
  3. I also live in HH and successfully registered on 'expatvac' Aug 14. I have read comments on other threads from people (expats 60+ years old) getting their 1st shot via expatvac but I have not seen any posts or comments claiming that people successfully received Pfizer at HH Hospital. Even though there was a story from Hua Hin Today's monthly newpaper (posted on aseannow last week) claiming that HH Hospital had an allotment of Pfizer. Like you I have received no appointment email from HH Hospital for Pfizer or even Sinovac (which I will decline if that's all they offer).
  4. Well I registered on Expatvac website 10 days ago (Aug 14) and received registration confirmation by email the same day. Home address in Hua Hin but no email yet from Hua Hin Hospital. I won't hold my breath and will believe they are actually administering Pfizer vaccine if and when I see it. And yes I checked my spam folder.
  5. I sent a message to the US Embassy in BKK 1 month ago after learning about the US donation. As a US citizen over the age of 60, I even offered to pay for 2 shots of the then pending Pfizer donation. I posted their reply to me and my response back to them in a previous forum thread on July 8. Basically, they told me I had to depend on the Thai gov't to get a decent vaccine. I have since been able to register for Moderna at a hospital in BKK but, for obvious reasons, have no confidence that I will ever receive the shots.
  6. Yesterday afternoon, after Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin shut down their registration for Moderna within 5 minutes of opening, I sent a lengthy email to the US Embassy in BKK. In it I asked if US citizens would receive any priority with the Pfizer donation from our gov’t and even offered to pay a fair price for 2 doses. Unfortunately, I was unimpressed with their response. Below is their response followed by my reply back to them. Fortunately, they chose not to send me another email since I was prepared to rip them a new one. ____________________________________________________________ We do not have any other information to provide. Private Hospitals say that they will offer U.S. vaccines, but the earliest we have heard is October. It is no guarantee which vaccine you will receive from the Thai authorities. Sincerely, American Citizen Services U.S. Embassy, Bangkok ____________________________________________________________ I appreciate the prompt reply but am also very disappointed. Since private and public hospitals here in Hua Hin will not even allow me to register for future inoculations due to limited or non-existent supplies how can I ever expect to receive the vaccine? Unfortunately, the Thai government and hospitals here say many things. Few of which are actually true as I am sure by now you are fully aware. Hopefully, I will see no more stories about the US donating vaccines to Thailand when, in my opinion, US citizens in Thailand should be at the top of the list of recipients.
