Thanks Ubon Joe. It is an extension issued by immigration. So all of this could be done in country without need to exit?

When changing jobs in Thailand, how easy is it to change / transfer visa and work permit?  Can it be done in country or do you have to leave country and apply for new visa and start process over again? Does it in anyway depend on cooperation of employers? Would multiple entry permit still be valid or would that need to be applied for again.

Travelled back through Don Muang earlier this week around 9.30pm and no line control. No one checking TM 6 forms were correct and complete and no organization of the lines. 

Not that many in front of me but nearly everyone had a problem with TM 6 and were communicating with immigration officer via Google translate on their phones. Each one took 5 - 7 minutes at the desk which meant a 55 minute wait.

I intend to go to Chang Wattana immigration and cancel both visa and re-entry permit there. I presume that I would need to fly out later that same day or pay overstay or pay the denied extension.

I will start work again and have been advised that i must cancel existing retirement visa and multiple entry permit before going to Thai embassy overseas to obtain new 'non b' visa.

Ubon Joe - yes it is currently an extension to original retirement visa.

Can anyone advise how many days after a Retirement Visa is cancelled that you are allowed to stay in LOS before having to leave?

I have been told that for Business visa cancellation it is 21 days but for Retirement you must leave the same day.

I am currently residing in Thailand on a retirement visa with multiple re-entry permit. An opportunity has arisen to start working (legally) in Thailand and I am unsure of the process to convert existing visa to working one. Eg do I have to cancel retirement visa and leave Thailand or can I start work permit/visa process while still here? Will my multiple re-entry permit still be valid - if I need to get new visa?
