Wouldn't a 14mm socket be the one to go for?   Why would you need a 21/22mm socket for 14mm?

Ask the shop or buy one and if if it doesn't fit, exchange it for one that does.

14mm is the diameter of the thread.

They are different markets around the world for about the same modal of motorcycles, the first Honda wave 125 cc in Thailand was made in 2013, before that they were 100 and 110cc modals only fitted with kickstarts.

For the UK market riders like the electric start, that was a big thing when Honda launched the CB 750 in 1969 a bike with an electric foot.

Back to Thailand, I have asked why a 125cc Wave 10000 baht more than the 110-cc modal, I was told the 125 is another tax bracket, and an Eletric start modal is/was 1800 baht more than a kickstart modal.

I would say that is why the 100/110ccWave around for a while before the 125cc modal was launched, Honda did its homework found a ready market, even with the price hike, now  the rest is history.

Well I ordered the parts for the Honda Innova at my dealer in Chumphon using the parts book for a 2004 Wave 125S so they must have been making the Wave 125 back then.

The only differences between the Innova and the Wave are to do with lighting where legal requirements differ in the EU/UK.

The 2004 Wave parts book shows an electric starter.  Wave parts book is here:

I did not know that 20-year-old Waves had a starter motor, thought it was kickstart only.

Starter motors being fitted to fuel injection modals.

My Wave has 120000on the clock still original starter motor, only thing I have had to replace was the battory.

It is actually a 2004 Honda Innova 125 which I have in the UK.  The Innova is 99% the same as a Wave 125S so I assume the Wave 125S of the same year would have electric start too.

  4. Does it have a kick starter?  If yes, then I would not repair/replace until it fails.  Failure may never happen during your ownership.

There is some parts availability on most Honda starter motors.  I have just rebuilt a starter motor on a twenty year old Honda Wave by fitting new brushes.  The job is pretty fiddly but it saves a lot of money compared with replacement.

    Quote from Kia:

No special break-in period is needed. By following a few simple precautions for the first 1,000 km (600 miles) you may add to the performance, economy and life of your vehicle. Do not race the engine. While driving, keep your engine speed (rpm, or revolutions per minute) between 2,000 rpm and 4,000 rpm

The manual specifies the first service is at 15,000 km.

IIRC, I asked for a link first, which has not appeared.

So you run it in.  Like any other car.

You see, you know nothing about the Chinese MG...

MG is the racing logo of Morris Garages, their basic cars are called  ...MORRIS..........

On the rear of the Chinese rides there is a badge, even the Chinese Maxus truck has an MG variant, 100% Chinese except the MG bling..

The Chinese MG quotes in their MG advertising, since 1924.....????

    Here is the boot badge.....????

My pickup will carry 1000kg of building materials in the back.

Will the Celery/Maz2/Tuna do they same ?

No they wont because they not all do the same job.

A large percentage of pickups get used in the same way as a car.

Given the OP lives in Bangkok I suspect that is what he is doing.

I used to own a Vigo and it was rare that it carried anything heavier than the groceries from Lotus.

    That is sage advice however,

Ford Ranger Australia first service - 1000km.

Ford Ranger Thailand first service - 15000km.

Seems even the OEM's are confused !

I know of other similar examples:

Suzuki Thailand Thai language owner's manual first service - 1000km

Suzuki Thailand English language owner's manual first service - 15000km

Manufacturers are, however, pretty consistent in terms of what they say about engine running in/break in procedure.

You have to learn how to carry it looking cool???? Difficult to describe. Hand inside under the strap, then resting on rim. It becomes almost part of you and you can use it like a basket if in 7-Eleven/Tops. et al.

I usually end up holding it between my knees when at the checkout to have both hands free.  Unfortunately that leaves me immobile until I finish faffing about with money and purchases.

Do you, by any chance, have any links on the whole helmet coolness thing.  Videos, support groups, whatever...????

Interesting. We have an 8 year old 125 Wave in great condition but considering passing it on to the family. I am tempted by the newer technology ,cvt transmission and bigger engine of the Honda click 160 although missus favours another 125 Wave which has barely changed. We don’t use it beyond short journeys often filling the spacious under seat with shopping,or my full face Arai helmet (which also actually just squeezes under the click seat.
    Any suggestions /tips?

I prefer the Honda Wave type transmission to CVT but the point you make about the under seat storage is a good one.

I too use an Arai full face and leaving it parked on a mirror isn't a good option so I walk around with it like a numpty.
