Depending of what standard and facilities you are looking for, there are many bungalow resorts on the beaches, which could be of interest with relative affordable prices – i.e. lower than 7k baht per night – in areas with good facilities like local shopping and many restaurants. Also depending of age of third person, to side-by-side bungalows might be an option. Try to check as suggested by @Tropicalevo or for example Maenam Beach. Also Ibiz Hotel there is known as a budget priced family hotel ("budget price" is relative).

We ended up staying at Lamai Inn 99. It was like 2800 baht nt. With 2 beds. This location is great, no need to rent transportation. The beach is very chill.

My bike is a 1200 and I salute with left hand. I salute with right hand when entering Makro.

I got one that salutes me every time I drive by and of course I salute him back.

I did a driving school for the MC license. They have you do repetitive practice tests till you get 100% correct. It would be the same for a car license.

Me and Mrs G were discussing a couple of evenings ago maybe returning to Thailand.

 

Then we  got in to the hassles for me.

 

In the US Mrs G is a Permanent Resident, soon to be citizen. No 90 day checks, no money in the bank, apart from the fact she can't vote she looks just like me.

 

I just don't think I'm ready for all that hassle again. Just bring in something looking like when Thai spouses go to the West and maybe I'll think again.
