I believe in the tooth fairy, and investments that return 20% per month on capital. I also believe my GF when she wants to borrow 1000 baht.

Immigration offices are still open. Normal work days and hours.
I wonder how long that will last. Things being as they are, a pretty good site for propagation.
If they are closing borders, why not just declare a moratorium on reporting obligations? It's not as if we are going anywhere.
Silly me, I'm making sense.

Anthony Fauci is the person the US should be listening to at this time.
In fairness to Trump, reality TV shows are not a good foundation for dealing with a pandemic.

You could always post it in.
Can't win. Then it's being spread in the post office.

I can't get it to work, using Linux. I'll go to the immigration office, and if they get coronavirus from me, som nam na.

My Thai massage lady informed me today this was the last massage she could do for two weeks, the police have ordered her to close. Took a cruise down Jedyod Road this evening, bars were closed, although some restaurants were open. Seems rather haphazard.

The more sex you have the stronger your immune system will be.
Yes, it can get messy, but for the sake of survival I am taking applications from suitable Thai ladies.
Thank you, my GF will be pleased.
Has there been a run on Viagra in the pharmacies?

Valid point. I'll have to watch out for police and people in white coats.

I have decided to blow my nose and cough loudly when anyone comes within 3 metres of me. If they come closer, I'll start staggering as well. I won't need an immune system then.

Hoping that this like most virus will not mutate into a more viralent form.
Virus have a habit of mutating which makes vaccines difficult to perfect.
I understand viruses mutate when they encounter resistance. COVID-19 is doing just fine as it is.

I'm staying in Thailand. I have food, money for a year, and my GF will look after me. I can isolate in my condo or at her village.
If I went back to Australia now, I'd be standing in line for food and toilet rolls.

Yep, if everyone gets it at once we don’t have the medical resources to treat the old and vulnerable.
Surely it’s not that hard to sit reasonably still for a couple of weeks ?
I agree with you, and that is why I am 1/ Not socialising 2/ Playing golf by myself, and using the swimming pool when no-one is there 3/ Wearing a mask outside my room 4/ Air purifier running 24/7 in my room. 5/ Regular hands Hygiene.

The problem is hospitals being overwhelmed by the percentage of really sick people with life-threatening symptoms. Delaying the spread of the virus, also called flattening the curve, helps hospitals to cope. But if you want to be one of the people turned away from a hospital because they have run out of medical facilities to treat you, be my guest.

Get a medical certificate, then have someone take it to Immigration with your passport and papers. If they have any sense, they'll want nothing to do with you.

Come back to us in about 20 years, when you have saved enough to afford Thailand. Change your job in Argentina, if you are sick of it.

Good point. China seems to be in better shape already, no new cases. The lower oil price should help China. Low Oz Dollar price also, all in China's favour, it should recover.
AFAIK contracts for iron ore, coal and LNG coming from Australia are written in USD.

Yea but you miss one points bare are not essential but food is. So get over yourself and stop looking for conspiricies. Some services are essential, like food (plenty of that in shopping centers). Bars on the other hand are not essential.
Mongers and bar girls would disagree. Never mind, now they are off to Isaan to spread some more.

It's already here. Massive job losses in the tourist industry. No caterers need for AFL matches in Australia, they are playing to empty stadiums. People out of work who can't pay their rent. Retirees are going to find the share dividends they rely on are going to be slashed, along with franking credits.
It's actually not a bad time to be an age pensioner, albeit being in the most vulnerable cohort.

Buffalo can be tasty if prepared correctly. Bison are even better. Corn fed whitetails are the best.
Except for a carefully aged Kansas or Oklahoma Rib Eye.
Sigh. I keep telling you a Gippsland eye fillet is so much better than that feedlot <deleted>, because we feed the cattle with real grass. Can be cut with a fork, so tender. One of the things I miss, with a hearty Shiraz, naturally.
Why do I get the feeling I am trying to describe colors to a blind man?

Not that much off topic - it is about being older and surviving ???? There are many things on my bucket list I have done, and some I never will, but there is one I am hopeful of - and that is beating my age at golf. I assume he was a good golfer and therefore probably did it in his 70s - and probably on a 'real' golf course (par 72). There is an easy golf course nearby here where par is 68 and I have shot in the mid 70s a few times - so maybe. That is the key I reckon - finding an easier golf course ???? No way at Augusta or Bay Hill - never will be I reckon on a course like that.
Shot 77 around Gymkhana age 76, but for a double bogey on the 17th, alas. IMO if we continue to set our selves goals, it is life-prolonging. My hero is Keith McPherson, in the Guinness Book of Records for breaking his age. Played with him quite a few times. His grandson, Bryden McPherson, won the British Amateur. Good thread, it's stirring up the possums.

My Thai GF and I are fairly well insulated in Chiang Rai. The authorities have limited shutdown here to the Night Bazaar, everything else is open. Including the beer bars on Jedyod Road.
Straws in the wind though, very few customers in Big C. My GF tells me many people here have no work, no money.

Now they are closing condo pools
in Pattaya

You are looking for logic in a country where it morphs continually.
Swimming pools are not the problem, it's the number of people in them. i try to swim when there is no-one else there.
