Thais will always be Thais... if my GF say she want to break up with me, i just don't listen ..she'll always comeback like a pussy cat.I also see them ( Thai Girl ) are so funny, trying to be perfect and polite. It's called Fake in the western civillization..if you really love them, you will try to live with that. Just my 2 cents

my question though, is would you love someone you deem is "fake" in the west? If not, why would you do it here? You know the "fakeness" will cause trouble in the future. Fake people always do, they're not capable of a healthy relationship. How can you trust a "fake" person fully?

Don't believe any sob stories from Thai women or expats.

Avoid Tuk Tuks, mostly driven by scammers and thieves.

She doesn't love you, even though you are convinced she does.

Only pay for services rendered, don't ever pay for the promise of future services.

Ladyboys are not transsexuals, they all have a penis (so are transvestites).

I wouldn't spend much time in Bangkok, you should be in Pattaya for most of the time.

You should believe sob stories from expats ABOUT Thai women though.... You don't have to fall into a cave in order to know that there is a cave ahead. Heed the warnings.

    6. What's the best places to eat near soi cowboy and nana as my hotel is between those areas.

You're in the best place to "eat" anyway. Enjoy the "meal". Beware of food poisoning the day after you feast. That often happens when you eat dirty oysters, especially around that area. Once in a while you might also encounter a sausage when you thought you ordered an oyster.

Show  me a woman who doesn't like spending money.... Regardless of nationalities

That is a service you could charge for... ?

Show me a PERSON who doesn't like spending money.... regardless of nationalities or gender.

Let's not act like men don't like to spend money.... Everyone likes to spend money. Not everyone likes to earn it. Again, regardless of gender.

However, getting sidelined here. I was talking about the girl in the picture in particular. You (or more like I) can spot a gold digger from one single glance. They have a vibe of "I like things I cannot afford and I want to climb up the social ladder the easy way"

  5. - a "luxurious" lifestyle (meaning a lifestyle they cannot afford. So even if they do have money, they will always want to have a lifestyle that is 'higher'): this translates to money, gold, financial security, etc.

    - bragging. Isaan girls seem to like to brag about buying expensive things. My friend would buy a 2,000 Baht tiny bag and she would say "it's so expensive". I didn't ask her how much it was nor did I ever say anything about the bag, I didn't even take a good look at it (I'm female, so this is the kind of thing they talk to other girls about). She just volunteered that info out of the blue.

    - som tam and their chilies

    - this typical Thai music where the only dance move is to grind and "twerk" with their nonexistent flat <deleted>.

    - smacking. Oh LORD the smacking. You can give them a piece of plastic and they will smack their way around town with that.

Counting the useless time and like to have a plan.

You will have a great time enjoying to study in Thailand. Tell us when you get your first meltdown or you cancel your studies and go back!

Just telling you from someone who has 4 years experience of studying in Thailand.

Anyway, I wish you good luck!

PS: It will always help you to rephrase the following things on your mind:
    TiT, this is Thailand
    I am not crazy
    Mai pen rai

I would have had a meltdown a long time ago if it weren't for my German friend who does everything with me, even group works. We just filter the useless lazy dummies and never agree to work with them. I have the German efficiency and that's why i seem "restless" to you. I rest when I'm at home. I compartmentalize my time. And yes, I plan. And yes, Thailand makes me go crazy because there is no rhyme or reason to anything. No logic. Or more like their logic is not like our logic. I'm just learning to bite my tongue everyday and avoid telling people how things are supposed to go.

You seem to have a restless life... 2.5 hours is not that much to spend. Why not talk with your friends? Read something, a book, news etc. Listen to some music. Prepare yourself for study. Take a power nap.
I would reckon if you go somewhere outside you spend more time commuting, change clothing etc. than in the actual pool or at the gym.
    Just my ideas...

That's 2.5 hours a day, 2 or 3 days a week. For about 4 months. Now I'm not good at math, but I'd rather use that time to burn some calories than to just sit around consuming more calories. I can always have a lazy day and do exactly that if I want to, but I need to have a plan. Besides, have you ever tried chit chatting with a bunch of 20 year old Thais for 2.5 hrs a day, 2-3 times a week, for 16 weeks? The topics of som tam, "I want to sleep" and "I want to poop" does get boring after being repeated for the 300th time.

Drinking coffee and talking 2.5 hours is what most expats do daily —-not Thais. Did you intend to insult 95 percent of expats living in Thailand??

Those are not expats, those are retirees. Now that we've cleared this up, let's go back to the topic. If you don't want to talk about pools, I'm sure there are more exciting threads for you.

  9. That is the Thai way it seems. The term "family" is used quite loosely, and when it's about family, there is freedom. Especially when there is farang money involved, then all of a sudden every "family" member wants a taste. You married a Thai woman, you should've known this fact. If you don't agree with this lifestyle or mindset, then maybe you shouldn't have married a Thai. You'll never change them. You can only change you. Accept that this will keep happening again and again, and if you can't accept it, it might cause problems in your relationship with your wife. If you can't accept this, well then all there is to do is remove yourself from the equation.

then they probably stay at home most of the time, because I only very rarely see a farang guy - fat thai girl couple.

I've seen some. Although, most farang-thai "couples" are indeed where the girl is skinny. But then again, if you see a farang guy walking with a skinny, long stick-straight black haired girl with tanned skin, in short shorts/skirt and high heels, that's probably not a couple you're seeing, but a "temporary arrangement involving money". There's a type. And yeah, men who prefer bigger girls typically don't go to places where only the above mentioned type of girl is available.

  11. Where is the best place to find a good variety, for a good price? Please don't say down the streets at Nana, I'm afraid I will be ripped off and there is not enough variety to choose from. I've searched around in Lazada, but every time I order something there, they always put the name of the product on the box, ready for the office lady at my condo to see. Has anyone ever ordered a sex toy from Lazada? Also, I prefer shopping online to having to go to a shady store where the goodies are probably way overpriced. Any discreet online shops?

  12. My friend likes his girls voluptuous. Not morbidly obese, but he needs a bouncy ass, not boney. And he has never had a problem finding one. Turns out plenty of farangs like chubby girls and many chubby Thai women knows that too. Beware of the level of attachment though after one single night together. But then again, I guess that can be said about Thai women in general...

  13. So I'll be having 2.5 hour breaks twice a week when the new semester starts. Going to the gym does get boring. And for the life of me, I can't just sit at the coffee lounge or cafeteria and eat and talk nonsense for 2.5 hours twice a week for a whole semester, like the Thais do. I would like to fill this gap with swimming. The problem is, the pool that I go to, in Benjasiri park, is having lunch break during this time slot.

Does anyone know of a cheap (100 Baht or less per entry) pool around Rama 4 or Ekamai? Preferably one that is not 2 m deep.

Train capacity is not the only big problem. Ticket buying and entry/exit gate congestion at peak times, especially at junction stations like Siam and Asok is already a nightmare. Just think of what an even more crowded Siam or Asok station at rush hour would be like. BTS stations are ill-equipped to handle increased passengers, with no obvious room for expansion. And I believe it’s going to get worse once the extension beyond Samrong is becoming operational at the end of the year.

The root cause for the congestion in these 2 areas, I believe, is the lack of possible stations to switch between lines or between BTS/MRT. If there were another possibility for people to change from Sukhumvit line to Silom line, say, at Ekamai, then the Siam crowd might get halved, or just simply less. The more possibilities, the less crowded Asok and Siam will be. This is how other countries have done it. They make it possible for passengers to switch trains at multiple stops, depending on their destinations.
