If you travel north through Koen Kahn, Korat, Chiang Mai, etc. you'll see huge areas of what looks like "scorched earth".  If you look closer you will see local nationals actively burning their fields.

Every year they promise to enforce the no-burn laws yet each year the burning persists although they always are quick to point fingers at neighboring countries, vehicles, etc.  It must be a customs thing or perhaps it's ingrained into them to burn their fields every year I don't know.  I do know that this is human created and not much is being done to prevent it.

Folks nationwide are suffering from it and I would imagine it affects the economy and tourism greatly.

    Folks,

I'd like to buy a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i Chromebook Plus - but I can't for the life of me find where I would buy it in Bangkok.

I can order it from abroad, but I'm mostly scared of the customs applying some nice markup to it. Any suggestions?

Better to think twice about to buy a Lenovo, they still have the manufacturing Problem with the Hinges. My ones were broken both sides after 12 month. And Lenovo refused to repair under warranty, even if I have 12 more month of Premium Warranty.

I had two new ones that I'd bought from Lazada previously, but when I went to change it I found they wouldn't screw in, and the thread was much shorter than the original. Problem is the tap is now leaking like crazy, so waiting another week or so to be delivered from China is out of the question. The kitchen tap has a shut off valve under the sink, but of course it's frozen and won't move.

Time for some maintenance. Or just replace the Tap with a new one, they are all coming very cheap.

Where does a statement like that even come from? They make some of the best cars in the world, what is your issue with the Germans? Still sore over WWII?

You may google German Diesel Scandal or Dieselgate. And it's far from over.

A Thai relative is contemplating replacing her nearly 20 years old Toyota with a new Chinese made Electric car. I have advised caution because of the lack of information on how long they last. They have only been on the road in Thailand for just over 2 years.

Has any member experience of them and can advise me further?

I should have said, No issues ever on the 3 BEV’s from China.

A German BEV was trailered  back to the main dealer in Bangkok 2 times for air conditioning failures.

The German PHEV was trailered back to the main dealer in Chiang Mai once for a failed infotainment system.

Better not to buy anything from the German Auto Mafia.

I'm in Pattaya and had the same problem last week, three attempts rejected, attended in person at Jomtiem and was told the online system isn't working since the latest update. Quite a few in the same boat, I had to complete a tm47 form plus a copy of passport photo page and a copy of visa, all sorted in about thirty minutes.

How they can reject Online Reports when the System is not working?

I read that at the start of 2024 Thai Tax must be paid on all foreign income if you stay the majority of a tax year in Thailand. Have many left, or considering leaving?

I guess many have to leave the Country as they can't afford to pay any Tax, they are living from their monthly Pensions and have no Savings at all.

There are specific requirements for an EV charger one of which is a Type-B RCD/RCBO which must be a double-pole unit (opens the neutral).

All the necessary stuff should be supplied by the installation contactor.

Do you already have a 30/100 meter? If not, they will probably require one, or a separate 15/45 dedicated to your EV.

Thanks, I have a 3 phase System incl. 30/100A Meter. But I hope I can charge the Car from my 10 kw Solar always. Nevertheless, I had a look on the two installed new Wallbox Chargers in their brand new Workshop here in Pran Buri, and both hooked up with normal MCB's only. So I will be more than careful when they come to install the Charger at my home.

I know a top attorney in Bangkok who said that the number of expats leaving right around 2019 and into the first year of covid was enormous, well into the tens of thousands. No way to know how many new ones have come, I guess.

Lots of Russians are here meanwhile.
