This kind of information is really helpful. Also, about pbrl. Does anyone have any good real estate firms to recommend? A good office location might attract walk in customers?

sounds like you wouldn't trust them even if they came back, engage another contractor and complete the project. These contracts are a good starting point for avoiding some misunderstandings and laying down rules, but the practicalities of a actually launching a legal case in Thailand can be not worth the (financial) hassle.

Hi
Here I am in the "Riverside Guesthouse" Chanthaburi till the end of the month. I need to find an apartment to move to at the end of the month. Somewhere around the 2000 - 3000 Baht range. Anyone know of any. I'm looking for something in town. I work at a school near the Bus Station.
I found one near Robinsons for 3800 Baht .. but it's a bit small for the price. Plus the balcony has a view of a concrete wall 3 feet away! I had an apartment in Korat twice the size with views of trees next door for 3000 Baht! What? .. are they all crooks down here or what?
Any ideas?
Thanks
you may want to ask at Tourist Info box near Gem market

Anyone know of this lot are still not passing on rents?
A friend of mine has been having similar problems to DavidH, initially they paid a small amount of the arrears, then it has been a series of broken promises. Clearly you do business with at your peril !

In Royal Garden, in the small thai handicraft stalls they sell nice wooden watch display cases. Also last year my brother bought a Rolex in Bangkok, the same month i went back to UK for 3 weeks, took the watch back with me and was able to reclaim the Sales Tax at Swampy airport, c20,000 baht if i recall. The watch has to leave the country, the receipt alone wasn't enough.

these stories are all sad, and my sympathies goes's to the deceased family and friends. I hope other people reading the forum can see the common pattern - no helmet, DRINKING, possibly speeding, driving in poor conditions rain , and all that's without the soi dog having a bad day and just walking out in the road !!
