Yes, same here in south Surin and throughout most of Thailand. Millions of Thai citizens, every day. But a half-day here and a 2-hours there and a whole day somewhere else followed by a week with nothing does not equal an exit from poverty. It's not called the 'informal economy' for nothing. Doesn't form part of the bureaucrats' stats and therefore of the politicians' considerations.
And poverty is not just 'external' (as in observable). It's also in the mind. When you grew up with not-enough-food, no education worth having, illiterate, no experience of anything more than 20 kms away ... I have BILs too frightened to enter a shop on their own, never been inside a supermarket, wife has to escort to government buildings because cannot face the desk workers on their own ... One BIL in his late 30s has never bought clothes for himself; dressed entirely in hand-me-downs including from me.
And so it goes ... But never mind. The PM will have it all fixed within 2 years.
The wife picked mushrooms yesterday and sold them for 400 baht, bless her.

3 yr old ... that's pretty sick
but why are the parents leaving their 3 yr old with this guy?
that's negligence
The parents are locked up.
The evil aunt is the caretaker, pimp.
Whoever did this needs to pay for the crime.
I hope proper justice is the outcome however, unless there is scientific evidence to prove guilt the yank is duckszit.

Wake up
Empathy is wasted on humans.
Pity would be more apt in your case.

Disaster Aid Australia should keep to helping the poor back home. Their services will be needed after the current Government is done with screwing the country.

Interesting that they are not charging the parents for aiding and abetting his escape and avoiding the law. Also they should charge whoever said there was a interpol red notice on him.
Yer some media fella tried that on dear old dad and was slapped with a 40 million slander case.
Put a bounty on the kid-man and he would be back in town in no time flat.
No this prick is untouchable.

This is the best under the table deal ever. We support your casino if you support our cannabis. Both approved and the marriage is over. Long may they live in happiness exiting gambling and buzzes at all times. smiles all around!
Casinos are just plain evil and destroy more lives than cannabis could ever do.
Leave the weed alone.
Growing cannabis is free for the population, is this where the problem lies?

I'll keep this thread in mind next time the neighbors kid craps on my lawn.
He is four now and has been doing it for years.
The sad thing is that his mom is expecting again.

IS there any evidence that houses have been sold for those prices that were advertised? Sounds like a "too good to be true" price for that house with that location and amenities. Could it actually be part of a scam?
China - scam seems about right to me.
