  1. really appreciate the advise to both Sheryl and Lorry. We will most likely plan our visit to see Dr Petcharat tomorrow and will be sure to call the hospital early in the morning to confirm if she's working. Thanks again all and after its done, will be sure provide feedback here for other members as well!
  2. If by chance my wife changes her mind, who would you recommend at Samitivej?
  3. thank you very much, Sheryl!! i will look into it immediately. And yes, you're right, perhaps the doctor we saw that day had way too many STD cases on that day, but I get your point. Perhaps one day soon, my wife will see it the same way as well. Also, appreciate the super quick reply! wasn't expecting any replies till a few days later!
  4. Dear ASEAN members here in Bangkok, I kindly request some recommendations for a reliable and experienced gynaecologist in Bangkok for my wife. My wife has had a sticky no-smell yellow liquid flowing for sometime now, ever since she removed her IUD 2 plus months back. There is no pain whatsoever and no discomfort at all. Her monthly period is heavier than when she had the IUD but other than that, there's been no change at all. We previously went to Samitivej hospital hospital ( mid 2022 ) and it wasn't a very good experience. We went for a yeast infection. And even before my wife laid down, the doctor ( sorry, can't remember the doctor's name ) suspected an STD and gave me ( the husband ) a real dirty look. Only after she had taken a swab, and left the room to test/check, her entire attitude changed. I told my wife this jokingly ( in fact, my wife noticed this even before i did ), and my wife said she won't return to Samitivej again. I take it as a joke, but apparently, my wife was more offended than I was. Bumrungrad is from our understanding, extremely expensive, so we wish to avoid that, if possible. Our insurance will only cover up to 1500 baht, which pretty much covers the doctor's fee only. So, thats the story, why we would like to avoid these 2 hospitals ( if possible ) and hope you guys can provide us with some healthy recommendations. We don't mind semi-private hospitals or even government hospitals, as long as they can speak English well and my wife can get a diagnosis about her condition without visiting multiple times. FYI - we can only speak English sadly, we're taking Thai lessons but still no where close to good at it. Thanks for reading! And thank you in advance.
  5. Hi OneMoreFarang, I actually have ???? but still no bites... I've spoken to 2 neighbours' maids, the management office, all the cleaners in my housing project and even some of the sellers in the nearby wet market ???? and still nothing ???? its like nobody seems interested!
  6. Hi guys, need some of your help again ???? am looking to hire a full-time maid to help keep the house clean ( single story house ) and to help my wife in the kitchen. She will: 1. wash + cut vegetables & meat ( my wife will do the cooking ) 2. keep the kitchen & house clean 3. wash + fold clothes Monday to Saturday Sunday off Living at Soi 102 and salary is negotiable. Thanks in advance!! P.S: if you know any maid hiring agencies ( where they charge you a fee for finding a suitable full-time maid, like many agencies in BKK ) here in Hua Hin, please share and I would really appreciate it.
  7. @Epidemiologist Dave thanks alot! will give them a call!!
  8. I had the same issue when I first arrived in Bangkok about 6 years back. In my experience, almost all banks won't allow a person with tourist visa to open a bank account BUT I was lucky enough to find UOB Bank will allow me to open a bank with a tourist visa, but they wanted a deposit of 50,000 THB ( which you can withdraw all but maintain 5k THB at all times ) and a tenancy agreement. I had the tenancy agreement, but I didn't have that much cash on me. They allowed to swipe my credit card and withdraw cash from the counter to deposit into the account, and i remembered the rates weren't that bad. Left the bank with a bank book and an ATM card after about an hour. FYI - I did this at UOB bank in Gateway Ekkamai, Bangkok, so I can't promise if the UOB banks here in Hua Hin will do the same, but it's worth a try.
  9. Afternoon all, Back in Bangkok, we used to buy 18.9L drinking water bottles from Sprinkle. We just moved here to Hua Hin and am looking for a similar reputable and safe drinking water company that can deliver to my home as well. ( Sprinkle / Nestle doesnt cover Hua Hin, i've asked ) While others have suggested, we can't/won't do the following: Installing a water filter Buying those cream coloured big water bottles from trucks Buying smalll/big water bottles from the shops ( like Big C, 7-Eleven...etc ) Using those water kiosks you see around Thank you in advance! And please post constructive/useful posts only please...
