Going to line my attic space also.

In Homepro online they have SCG 6'' x 4 metres R-38 at 438 Baht  and Sunshield Extra Cool 6'' x 4 metres R-37 at 379 Baht. Other than the price any real difference? Or other recommendations?

I used SCG but i have no idea of the difference. Try Noppadol on the super highway i found better prices there than home pro.

  2. A few years on i may as well revive this thread to try and get some current information. I am interested in a solar vent for my roof as my house is incredibly hot in summer (i have already installed R36 ceiling insulation). I see they have these on Lazada but i would really rather deal with a local dealer who would take care of the entire installation. If anyone could recommend someone in Chiang Mai i would be grateful.

    Thank you.

  3. On the UEFA website the rights holder for Thailand is now showing as NBT. Perhaps we will have the games broadcast here after all. Tonights (2am tomorrow) match is not is the “sports on tv” section of BKK post though. Fingers crossed.

  4. I checked the UEFA website here:-

Unfortunately no broadcaster is listed for Thailand which makes me think nobody has yet purchased the rights. This could change at the last minute though. I've lived here for 15 years and every major tournament has been broadcast until now but some big matches including champions league, FA Cup, England matches have not been shown here this year unfortunately :-(

  5. I have both AIS and 3bb fiber - AIS is 500/300 and 3bb is 1000/500. Honestly, they are both extremely fast and reliable and i can't tell any difference between the 2. AIS is slightly cheaper and comes with 15gb 4g per month and a playbox which i personally never watch. We are paying less than 500 baht because my wife is a long time AIS user, it's an incredible deal for what you get in my opinion. I used to have True and in my experience both AIS and 3bb are far superior. However, as other posters note it is extremely location dependent. I am in Sansai, Chiang Mai.

  6. I live in Chiang Mai and when i joined Thailand Elite in 2016 i submitted my TM30 during my first 90 day report (fine 1500 if i remember correctly). I was told by Star Visa that trips within Thailand and returning to your home address won't have any issues with TM30 in the future. There is no need to resubmit if returning to the same address after a trip. Since then I have travelled within Thailand every month, staying in hotels and travelled abroad about 4 times a year. I have never had any mention of tm30 since and my 90 day reports have always been accepted. I have a report coming up in 2 weeks so if things change i will report back.

When I had the elite visa affixed to my passport at Swampy, I found the trip in the Golden Cart embarrassing to the point of mental trauma (one of the worst character flaws as an Australian is to be “up yourself”). Besides, I enjoy a long walk after endless hours in a cramped seat.

So, on my next trip, I just queued with the commoners. The IO knew what an elite visa was, or PE visa as he described it, but wasn’t sure how to process it, and I was guilty of holding up the line as he consulted with a colleague.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to just make your own way to the priority area, without having to make an advance booking with Thai Elite? They took me to a VIP area used by air crew, but I forget how to get there. I’ve also read that there’s a fast track priority area between the two main immigration areas. Can you use this service with an elite visa? Apologies if I’ve missed something obvious on Thai Elite’s website.

I have always used the EPA service when arriving however i believe you can just turn left to the fast track lane yes. Departing, the same applies you can just join the vip queue you don't need to be escorted. I was told though that if you wish to use the lounge when departing you do need to be escorted (at BKK) but have never tested myself.

But you have to travel to their office and drop off your passport, then travel back again to pick it up. How is this better than making a single trip to immigration to do it yourself? To me, it is more work, not less. 2 trips instead of one.

Well, i literally spend less than 60 secs in the agency each time. If i wanted i could of course go to the immigration directly but this has always taken me a significant amount of time. Also, leaving it to the agency ensures no need for TM30 etc all those little problems go away. Another option would be to not bother doing 90 day reports at all and to simply leave the country every 90 days. By doing this i would never need to go to the immigration office until 2036 for anything (can get a new 5 yr visa on arrival at the airport). I am usually going to the city a few times a week anyway so it is no inconvenience for me to hand my passport to the agency. Of course, if you live a long way out of the city then of course this will be more of a factor for you than it is for me.

I am 40 years old. I just want the easiest way to legally live a quiet life in Thailand without getting married. I am primarily interested in the visa, all the additional services are nice but even if it had none of these i would still have bought it. I have been very pleased with the services though especially at the airport. Highly recommended.
