  1. There are a few. The one my wife used is on the Chomsin Road (west side) after crazy railway crossing, straight up the road to toward Hin Lek Fai hill and on the right side somewhere before the temple. She passed practical test second time and got 100% in the theory test and had never driven before prior to the lessons (can't remember how many she had, maybe 20).

  2. Hi music lovers,

There will be some great live music performances at Thai Waii Paknampran (GPS: 12.407244, 99.967933) this Sunday 27th from 3pm onward:

This weeks lineup has many special guests from far and wide!

    · 'Bamboo Heart' - 3:00pm - 4:15pm (the 'house' band - rocking rhythm n blues)
    · 'Ace' - 4:30 - 6:00pm (regular guests with rock classics from all decades)
    · Special Guests from Scotland, 'Benny's Dream' - 6:00pm - 7:15pm (re-union gig with members flying in from Scotland & Canada - will also play Aug.1st & 7th)
    · Amy Elizabeth will do a set following Benny's Dream (talented young female vocalist)
    · A Very Special Guest Vocalist from Austin, Texas via L.A. Cal and Berlin, Germany - "Texas" Terri doing a David Bowie tribute song.
    · The Sunday Jam will follow featuring guest vocalists and musicians from the area.

As always, there will be the very delicious complimentary buffet accompanied by the [not complimentary] thirst-quenching and refreshing tasty beverages of your choice.
The lovely hostess - Jiab and host Richard 'Big Rich' Warren [in abstentia] along with bubbly staff will welcome everyone to attend...and bring all of your friends.

    How to get there:

Coming from Hua Hin, take the left that takes you to Paknampran after the Khao Tao turning, cross railway tracks, turn right, follow windy road all the way until you get to a 'junction' where you can either turn left towards Paknampran etc (many signs for various resorts) or go straight. Turn left. Immediately before/at the bridge over Pranburi river, turn left down a tiny narrow street, then immediately left again. Go about 300m and it's on the left hand corner, can't miss it once you get that close.

  3. the guy that plays bass at market village is khun Lek who owns the bass/guitar shop (Lek Bass) on the railway road - he might be able to help. You could also visit Thai Wai Junior bar in Khao Takiab or Thai Wai Paknampran (only Sunday afternoons) and get talking to people - lots of musicians there!

Also, the bass player at El Murphys works at Home Music School , they are on Facebook: @musicsocity (sic)

  4. Hey,

Rich is in USA for at least another month, but Thai Wai in Paknampran is still doing Sunday sessions from 3PM every week. Bands are Bamboo Heart & Ace, then there is the jam session where anyone can join in. The smaller place in Khao Takiab is open Mon-Sat I think and has music most nights. Cheers

  5. You'll have better options if you hop on a tuk tuk or motorbike and just head to the central area around soi 61, and if you are a Thai rookie, they'll probably try to fleece you, but not by much! Railway station is central, from there, walk east, cross at the traffic lights and you'll be on soi 61.

  6. As there has been a lot of curiosity to what this training involves, and a few people who want to come and look first, we have decided that we'll do the first hour for just 100B per person and then if you want to carry on for the full session, we can work something else out.

We really want people to actively participate and enjoy the training, and hope this flexibility will allow more of you to do so. This is intended for beginners and will be entertaining so don't be shy, give it a try!
