Was discussing this with my Wife the other day as we have amassed a lot over the years. The problem is who to give it to, WE both neither trust any Thai charities and western ones seems to spend inordinate amounts on "management"
Open to suggestions................erm not the obvious, must be NON religious based prefer education inc anti religion
Not sure where you are based but here on Phuket I would look to a charity like "Phuket Has Ben Good To Us Foundation". They do amazing work for orphaned and under-priviledged children. I have done some work with them so have seen first hand how the charity is run and the amazing people involved who do so much with so little funding

Yes, I updated to the new version too. Better movie/TV series selection and the Live TV stream is working well. But still endless buffering issues with most catch-up TV.
This is intriguing - is it a new update and is it active yet?
"Please stand by for an app update which will use a different delivery system, this will be running by the end of the weekend and will make things much smoother for Thailand based users. There will also be many new great features added in this update".
Things do seem to be better after the weekend but still far from "Perfect" 🍻

I updated to version 1.2.1 yesterday and it seems to have fixed the issue on two units but still major problems with main TV unit. Following back from them after further bouts of complaints (told them how pissed off we all were and we were all looking for a new supplier). Following response:

I am missing Great British Menu because of this

Hey Guys
Finally got a decent response from their support team and it turns out the version we downloaded on instruction from Pulse is not the latest version. Following is the message in full:
"The latest version is 1.2.1 If you are not on that then click the option that says 'Check for updates'. After a few seconds It should then show a message at the bottom of the screen saying there is an update available and it will install shortly. Then it will open a page that asks you if you want to update the app, You click yes, Or Install if that is the option. The new version should then install.
Some boxes have a security feature switched on that doesn't allow the update. If that is the case for you then on that security message that pops up. You will be able to click settings. Which will take you to the security setting that allows you to move a slider next to 'Perfect' that allows the app to then install updates. Now if you go back to the perfect app settings and click that 'Check for updates' button it will this time install the update for you".
Will give it a go and see if it makes any difference - good luck!!

Had hoped that things would improve but it is getting worse! Impossible to play anything on catch up and live TV just buffering all the time.
Any suggestions for an alternative provider please?

Yeah, me too. They've told me a new server for SE Asia is being installed today which should improve the connection.
I've also not been able to connect to the Live Stream for CNN, Sky News and Fox News.Let's hope things improve 🍻

Yes, have been with Pulse for four years - now PerfectPlayer.
Would say system is far from perfect! Main issues we have is when trying to play historical stuff rather than live. Get a stream of letters along the bottom of the screen and program will not play. Also suffer from long buffering times on a regular basis.

We are from South Africa and are getting married in Phuket , and have rented a villa with a private chef. Any ideas on where we can buy good steaks? Sirloin or Rib eye. Is Big C a good option? Open to all recommendations.
How many people you need steak for? There are some good options to order and get delivery

Sirinat National Park at the top end of Layan Beach is as "on the beach: as you will probably get. Seen loads of people camping there (mostly Thais but some Farangs) over the two years I was up there cleaning the beach early mornings.

Show me a provider that delivers a better "bottom line" than using Wise (excluding opening account offers) and I'll happily donate 50,000 Baht to a charity of choice to any poster here
They wont find one
I run a check monthly and still no one comes remotely close albeit one or two have been getting "closer"
Bottom line as to what lands in the account is what counts and absolutely nothing else when doing a comparison
I only looked at Wise once last year but it was a better deal to instruct my offshore bank to do a USD transfer (they charged USD 45) straight to SCB. Got a fixed amount quote from Wise but got more baht in to the account using transfer. Can't give you the proof so no charity donation needed ????

Company paying your rent, because 150,000 baht per month is serious $'s in anyone's language, e.g. I built a 6 bedroom, 3 bathroom house for just over that amount when you multiply the rent x 12 months.
No company paying. I know 150K baht per month sounds a lot but 350K per month sounds a lot more ????

Are you happy about it now? Blowing a bunch of money at once, now you can’t afford the same standard. You’ll need to downgrade now to save what you spent.
My original comment was on the current state of the rental market in Phuket, nothing more. What I can or cannot afford is irrelevant. ????

I think what your saying is you were previously paying 37,500 baht per month for your share of the monthly rent, i.e. there were (4) of you, which would make it worth the while.
That would be half the rent you would pay for a new one bedroom unit on Parramatta Road, Homebush in Sydney Australia.
Parramatta Road for those of you not familiar with the area has 6 lanes, 3 in each direction, so its a very busy road.
If the landlord is asking 350,000 baht a month now, he has heard that rents around the world have literally doubled because of the 10, if not more interest rises over the past year, and those landlords who couldn't afford to hang onto their investments, sold and most of the new owners who more than likely be tenants, therefore making rentals become scarce as the rental markets dry up, especially as is the case in Australia, with the government not charging stamp duty on purchases up to a certain amount, and then to scale, which makes it inviting, and those on the scale, can pay the stamp duty as an annual amount over xyz years.
Not 4 of us sharing (not sure where you got that from?) Also, different landlord, but an "identical" villa to the one we were in.
