  1. couldn't find the goldprice for 1 baht chain or ? in a goldshop in bangkok? thanks - maybe i am too stupid...!
  2. a friend of mine just drove from chiangkhong to houayxai via the friendship bridge to laos - everything is the same procedure as more than 2 years ago - only a "s.h.y..t.t..y" temp-check was done - nothing more! took about 2.5 hours - thai and laos immi custom etc! Visa on Arrival for 40 us - some countries get 15 days free exemption (e.g. Switzerland)
  3. good news just read here: https://thethaiger.com/coronavirus/doctor-loses-mor-chana-covid-19-application-to-be-discontinued-from-june-1 ..."The Thailand Pass is also expected to be discontinued from June 1."...

  5. thanks @ubonjoe - where in laos we can do a COVID-19 RT-PCR? or is a ATK-test good enough? we will not pass vientiane or luangprabang or other big cities/villages in laos!
  6. very interesting contributions - thank you very much everyone - here is also a message, but not so positive - https://laotiantimes.com/2022/05/10/laos-fuel-crisis-nears-breaking-point-as-vientiane-capital-runs-dry/ I'm waiting for reports from travelers by motorbike or car to laos and from laos back to thailand. how do i apply for a "thaipass" if i want to return to thailand from laos by land, i.e. with my own car? what are the rules currently (10.5.22) for entering thailand by land - haven't found anything online yet! it would also be interesting to know which borders are open overland to laos and from laos back to thailand - for example huay xai to chiang khong in the north and many more!
  7. It's not necessarily about the cost of motor oil - but if I can save money with motor oil, I can buy more noodle soups, which are known to only cost around 25 to 50 baht! and noodle soups also support MY body-engine for quite a while! (photo taken at one of the best noodle-shops in northern thailand - maesalong! - https://goo.gl/maps/2X1Hk3qznLTqHqHW6 )
