  1. many thanks to everyone, I agree with you all that i will keep the money until i get the final stamp!

and play safe ,  there are no guide or concrete written rules about visa that why many rules depend on individual rather than play book, some cases there are written rules, but some officers try to add more which i do not understand why!! my folder getting bigger each time i go to immigration! as i do not know what i expect

  2. Indonesian ? is that a joke? I am not sure who in WHO said that? really confusing! the tests really missing in Thailand, i had cold symptoms with my wife last month, we went to good private hospital and no one bothered to ask us to  have a covid test, I asked few times the nurse replied that the DR. said no need !????

when I was in Sydney, I can go for a test with mildest symptoms or no symptoms at all and free for every one ! and now Australia control it very well, very strange report of WHO!????

  3. the problem with STV in Australia, that royal Thai embassy announced this type of Visa on website and it takes two weeks for approval if you attach all the required documents for online application, however the Border Force will not allow you to exit or provide permission to leave base on STV ( this what happened to my friend this week, his request to leave the country been rejected - as STV does not fit Border Force Criteria )!!!

  4. is online application, when you click on the link you go to " Online Visa Application Form for Special Tourist Visa" which similar to my COE application that i have done previously, even the requested documents similar and much more than the COE and non-o documentation ! requirement of fund and  A fully paid hotel reservation for your stay in Thailand issued by the hotel showing the duration of stay

  5. applied for COE (online) mid. of July, then did not hear anything until 18 of august, the embassy asked me to book for ASQ as there is flight out of Sydney on 24/08, and send them my passport , it was so hectic and rush, booked the designated repatriation flight from sydney as instructed by the embassy ( exactly 12 hours window to book for the flight), then send them my flight and the ASQ bookings, after that they issued my COE which linked to the flight and date of arrival, even no time to send my passport back but the embassy called me to let me know that some one from the embassy will deliver my passport as the embassy staff will be at the airport to check documents mainly covid test and fit to fly , everything happened in a very short time! however, i can not do it without the embassy help , they are really helpful and did wonderful job

  6. No commercial flight allowed to Thailand yet! When I applied for my COE via royal Thai consulate - Sydney , they Are very clear that "Currently, the approved applicants are permitted to enter Thailand only by repatriation flights or cargo flights organised by the Royal Thai Embassy or the Royal Thai Consulate-General."

the embassy will contact you before issuing the COE to book and pay the available flight that arranged by the embassy, then you have to send the booked and confirmed ASQ as well

before my flight I uploaded COVID 19 test result and fit to fly certificate by your doctors, both must be issued no more than 72 hours before departure. Believe each embassy/consulate got own rules

  7. The below answers based on my latest experience with royal Thai embassy in Canberra, each consulate general or embassies got own requirements

    1.Already have a visa

If you already have a visa then you need to apply for the COE and other requirements such as ASQ

    2.Buy insurance

Insurance must, as required with your COE application

3.Apply for Certificate of Entry with all copies of ID/marriage asked for

Yes as you must be one of the groups that allowed to enter thailand

    4.Book flight

Required with your application for COE, however if you apply through Sydney consulate they will inform you about any " repatriation flight, if available you need to pay for your seat

    5.Book quarantine

This required with your COE application, book and make it flexible, but you have to book and can not be cancelled

    6.Get tested

You need free covid 19 certificate from your doctor to be able to bored your flight, when you arrive your ASQ they test you twice as well per the information that sent me when I booked my ASQ

    7.Fly to Thailand

As I mentioned booking flight required with your COE application, and with your online permission to leave Australia application

    Is this correct?

  8. Just few things to keep in mind

You need to book ASQ first, then change the date of arrival accordingly as I mentioned that the situation still fluid and could change any time, just speak with them before you book as most of them flexible, however you can not cancel the booking ,I got my COE by email as you need to send all the required documentation via email to the embassy, when you get you cos you need to post you passport and visa application, in term of health  insurance I did select one of preferred one on embassy list as they know exactly the new entry requirement which they send you paper work to send to embassy and to show immigration

You need to see your doctor a bit early to explain about covid certificate, as far as i know in Australia there is no such a certificate or template given that why I spoke with GP in advance. Without covid free certificate you can not bored the plane nor enter Thailand, the biggest challenge I found so fa is flight booking which required by the coe and by the visa application, you can go and book through Thai airways but will be no such a guarantee, the online application for permission to leave Australia needs to upload your confirmed booking as well,

  9. Permission to leave the easiest part , is o online form if you fall in any of the 4 criterion the form you get the permission, I got mine in 24 hours , but you need to upload your ticked and the COE, really as uponjoe said is the easiest part, the embassy will provide you with lists of approved ASQ ( they around 12 hotels with different prices) all the required information and prices on those hotels website and other list of the approved health insurance , in reality you only need to fill one form that a declaration , and health insurance,  then when you get your COE you send your application for a visa

  10. updated Kor Ror 2 marriage registry, which cost 10 baht each very important document to have, I did 10 copies before my immigration visit last week! this is my 9th renewal ( extension based on Marriage), from experience all depends on the IO on the day, every time I go for extension there are less or more evidence required ,  some time frustrating/annoying but we need to use to it! the strange request for the IO last week during my 9th extension is to provide a map to my house in Bangkok which I always keep few copies with me, the map previously provided by the local government when I built my house ! but this time the IO asked me to have hand written map which my wife did in front of the IO, these one of the things that depends on the officer on that day, some time strange to have those kind of things specially for people from western countries as everything we have in our country regulated and systematically approached, but the way done Thailand different and we need to be an open minded , many things been approved but still many other things needs to be continuously improved

    • Thanks 1
  11. today I completed my first journey to Immigration Division 1 - Bangkok, arrived there at 7.30 am, got my ticket , was No. 368! got all  documents and copies required but we manage to complete the process of the extension before lunch time, got stamp in my passport " Application of stay is under consideration , contact again in person on 29/12/2017" my initial 90 days valid until 20/12, is that means my visa extended until the review date which is 29/12? thank you for your advise as I can not go this far without your information and suggestions , many thanks
