It would have been a positive bonus to me back when my former wife was falsely accusing me of stalking her. Can't see a downside of being tracked if not a criminal.

If the criminal is smart they will leave their phone at home when committing a crime.

Your ex could claim you left the phone at home or loaned it to a friend to carry around while you stalk her.

I am sure a lawyer could keep arguing for or against any location evidence a phone might hold until it is dismissed in court.

Of course phone location data can be very useful to police showing them who might be of interest for further investigation.

Open Google maps on your smartphone, tap your avatar (top right), and there is your timeline showing where and when your phone was since you signed up to Google.

Awesome!!! I just had a look and it has every place I have visited every single day since November 2015 when I bought my first smart phone. Brings back so many memories. Better not let the wife see it because she will see all the times I visited Nana and Cowboy back early in our relationship. 🤐

Would a world without Israel be a more peaceful place?

Perhaps we will soon find out. Everyone else seems to play together just fine, or would do if the star spangled and Union Jack puppets would leave people alone to live their own lives.

It would be slightly more peaceful but we would still have Russia, China and radical Muslims to worry about.

this morning when I was about to take out the trash I saw a thai person sitting in front of my gate.

he was actually leaning on the gate itself

I don't know who they were but he was sat down playing with his phone.

I polite asked him to move

    which he did,

but he also swore at me in Thai and kicked my gate.

I think he may have been drunk.

just to be clear, this is a private residence and his back was leaning on my gate.

This whole situation has caused me a great deal of stress,

I hope I will be OK.

    bob.

Are you Swiss? Did you kick him in he back?

It's either legal or it isn't.

Tell that to the IO who is using his discretion to deny entry. Just before covid I was pulled aside and questioned for an hour because I had used METVs too often even though it was completely legal. He told me I should be using the "correct" long term visa. Luckily I was let in that time and because of covid it was more than 2 years before I went to Thailand again so my "too frequent" METV entries might have got reset.

Yeah I don't think that is correct... The visa is valid for 6 months meaning you can only use it up until the expiry date. If you enter 1 day before the visa expires then you can get stamped in for 2 months (plus you can extend 1 month at immigration), so techinically you can get +/- 9 months usage out of it, but there is no resetting the validity date upon re-entry that I am aware of.

Chances are the IO will deny you entry after a while because you are not using the "correct" visa. I think it would be risky to expect a continuous 9 month stay on a tourist visa.

Maybe it’s time for another “superstar” to mysteriously fall in a river to shift the public’s minute attention span to the next big story.

The news is already shifting. Today's news is all about the big ladyboy fight between Philippine and Thai ladyboys in Sukhumvit Soi 11 last night. Looks like a hundred or two having a riot with helmeted police getting squashed in the mess. Quite funny to watch actually.

I guess many if not all us keep a written diary ,

.but I was amused last night to work with a much  younger colleague who used his phone to re-cord his daily diary with videos and pics of bus driver on way to work, pics of arriving , pics of his takeaway meal

    😂

    this just information overload ?

is there any E booke on the Psychometric of information overload?

this is a riveting topic for us academic

I keep a written diary in a book using a pen. I hardly ever read any of the stuff I have written in the past 10-12 years, but I keep on writing. I might have to burn the books before I die to save my children a whole heap of embarrassing reading.

  9. I have been using Wise for 5-6 years to pay my Bangkok condo rent from an Australian bank account. They have always had the best rates available and the transfers were almost instant (within a minute) up about 5 months ago. Then they changed the local Australian agent and their new account does not seem to work with the OSKO payment system which is instant. Instead the payment goes via PAY ANYONE which takes between 4 hours and 2 business days. I contact the Wise call centre and they said that OSKO still works in Australia for them. So I contacted my Australian bank (Westpac) and they said that Wise does not accept OSKO payments through their current local account. Fingers pointing in both directions. I gave up trying to resolve the delay issue and just send payments a day early but it does feel like a backward step from instant transfers. I just hope enough Australian people complain and the problem gets sorted one day. In the meantime.... best rates and lowest fees available anywhere. I save about AU$40 each transfer compared to banks. Recommended.

I would certainly like to see far fewer farangs here. Maybe they could jack up the 800K in the bank for inflation over the past 20 years....it might make it 2 million and jack up the income required to 200K per month, and then treat the people here much better than now and stop this vile overcharging for farangs.

Which will it be? You are very obviously contradicting yourself.
