  1. I was under the assumption that the three year waiting period for re-marriage for a Thai female was 3 years AFTER the divorce is granted, regardless of the circumstances surrounding the termination of the marriage.

I am, however, wrong more than I am right so the above may not be correct.

It's 360 days but that just adds to the complication for the OP, 2 years plus 360 days. :o

I was thinking about it after realizing you were referring to a SHAN but if she was issued the marriage certificate by the amphur I would assume it was legal unless she didn't state this. Not sure if SHAN are given Thai ID cards either, which I would also assume she would need to have married before.

she doesnt have a thai ID, she was on a tourist visa with her burma passport

what would not be a foreign-thai marriage, would be a foreigner-foreigner marriage in thai.

    now my concerns are

as she does not reside in thailand , so does the man, although they registered thier marriage in bangkok amphur, would it be recognised in other countries?

and also i read in chiangmailaw that if she is a Hmong or Shan, marriage is not rcognised in thai law, but why would her marriage be granted back den ?

  2. so in order for her to get divorced, we have to wait for 2 more yrs? since she has not been with her legal husband for 1yr already.

what would mean adbondenment? they are merely not living together or anything, 1 yr ago, they got married without much thought, which my GF greatly regretted. .

It means he has left her and no longer supports her by any means. And unfortunately the 3 years is the waiting period. Still suggest talk to a lawyer, perhaps he has other 'tools' at his disposal. If she can get him to sign the divorce paper then it's relatively easy. In your OP you stated 'yrs back' so I assumed she satisfied the requirement already.

hmm.. so i guess it's back to the waiting game again.

another qn, as she does not reside in thailand , so does the man, although they registered thier marriage in bangkok amphur, would it be recognised in other countries?

  3. You need to get a Thai lawyer to handle this. It is simple case of abandonment. It is not uncommon in Thailand. It is not hard to file a case of no fault and abandonment divorce if the other person do not show-up when summoned by the court.

Under Thai law, there are only three acceptable reasons for a woman to divorce her husband, including abandonment for a minimum of three years, failure to provide financial support and adultery on condition the husband flaunts his extramarital affair in public.

so in order for her to get divorced, we have to wait for 2 more yrs? since she has not been with her legal husband for 1yr already.

  7. i never earned a single cent from paid surveys, instead, i earned a fortune of auto-surfing and HYIPs

    Do tell

    ?????

    :o

Autosurfs are advertising ponzis that pay us a certain percentage daily to surf a number of websites for a certain period of time. example, u invest 100, and inreturn they wil pay u 13% of ur investment for 10days, giving u a 130 return after 10days. There are many programs that offer such but be careful as some of them are scams.

HYIPs are relatively same but of higher returns and of cuz comes with HIGHER RISK, in long called a High Yield Investment Program, same thing, invest and they will give u example, 10% for 20days, which is like 200% in only 20days.

same kind of risks, require monitoring and careful looking.

I cant promise as i DID get scammed a number of times too, like they say, dont put all ur eggs in 1 basket. if you're interested send a PM my way.

I;m currently offering a 1st deposit guarantee for some selected programs.

i must be slow today can you explain that to me in English?

u got to pay to get paid. simple english.

  9. hey there guys, i have a close friend, resident of CR town, that happens to own a nail-printing shop and a cybercafe.

i've seen the cybercafe it's located near the big C and it's often crowded.

I have been contemplating going to CR town to live long term and is baffled by the limited job a foreigner could even get (except teaching)

well here's the deal but im not sure if it's ok. my friend could offer me a job to work in the cybercafe, paying me a small fee for helping him out, would that be able to be eligible for a work permit or some kind? as much as i need abit of income while staying here, i wouldnt want to get my friend in trouble working illegally.

Alternatively i could go into partnership with him and own 49% of the shop.

    which is better?

  10. No need to worry. The road to, I think you mean Cheng Tung, or Chiang Tung in Thai, one of the five Chiangs, should be smooth sailing. I wouldn't worry about the weather, either. If you want to do it, do it. There was recently a new road built up that way and should have an easy trip...however, don't expect the best. You are travelling in SEA and anything can happen. Roads wash out etc. But just make it an adventure and you are likely to have a ball.

hello thanks for reply, i am meaning Kengtung in burma. are we talking about e same place?

    if yes den im relieved..

  13. Lao Wai dosnt mean old respected. its just a crude term representing foreigners (westerners), just like how farang is crudely used here in thailand.

Aint rude, but aint exactly what u would call polite either :o
