Bvor replied to dauu's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
even if the 2 visa exempt by air is the "new rule" (refer sandyf post ?) isn't it per calender year which would mean your friend is ok for 2 visa exempt's in 2024? anyways i'm done with visa exempts and will hopefully be granted 60 day tourist e-visa's 4 times a year with 30 day breaks in oz. -

not too many entries according to normal guidelines - just another petulant female I/O. appears this time the throwaway airline ticket and the sameday border hop raised her ire sufficiently to threaten and bully. however, has been stamped in until 9 may which normally can be extended. application of the blacklist threat most unlikely (contradiction of 9 may entry stamp) - not happen IMHO. -
2 foreign women caught stealing from souvenir shop in Krabi

disgraceful behaviour that taints the image of decent foreigners. thailand needs to draw a line in the sand re antisocial foreign lawbreakers and expel these types.......no ifs and buts. -

thats great, thx for the update. access to global evisa and the reinstated perth thai airways flights sure beats what WA had to put up with since covid closures. -

thx for the info. good to see cost was same as pre evisa. please post final outcome as I am considering doing same . i also keep away from jomtien immigration. -
given that sydney has replaced the previous $60 tourist visa with the new evisa system it would seem that the 19 January 2023 list of visa fees has been somewhat invalidated. bearing in mind NZ and other countries evisa fee requirements can anyone confirm what sydney/canberra evisa fee requirements is.
-
according to sydney announcement that consulate will only accept applications from NSW residents. according to canberra announcement its embassy will accept applications from other states and regions but not from NSW residents. both announcements have a 19 March 2024 commencement that "coincidentally" is the same date as New Zealands proposed fee increases...........???? i'm from Perth so the canberra announcement is most welcome albeit overdue.

Bvor replied to anotherfarangishere's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
i have a registered evisa account and apparently australia has now been granted evisa eligibility. however when making a trial online application (that acknowledged my eligibility) the system gave a dropdown message that tourist visa single/multiple entries are not available on request .......??????. anyone have any reason for this? i am in thailand now but for application purposes i gave notice my location was in australia. cheers -

visa exempt "policy" changes to herd the western cattle thru the tourist visa gate looks on the cards. -
Correct. Countless forum OP's over the years have attested to IO trashing "official rules". The only certainty in TIT is uncertainty.

Q on TM.30 and 30-day extension on visa-exempt
Bvor replied to dluek's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think 800B is the minimum fine at IO "discretion" but even 2000B no big deal in the circumstances. -
Q on TM.30 and 30-day extension on visa-exempt
Bvor replied to dluek's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not being a protected species and no previous TM30"s I wonder if you will cop a fine at Chaeng Wattana. -
Neither am i . 90 days in 98 days of 2024 on top of 210 days in 2023 - good result thus far. Albeit I haven't heard of any TR60's limit per year. Would be good to know if there is one and what it is but given the 90 day in 6 month stoush i'd rather not ask on AN. Apologies for muddying the waters a little by mentioning the tax resident threshold of 180 days. cheers.
-
i don't think so. you were stamped in,she was just a tad suspicious cos thats a lot of time on tourist visas + extensions ( doesn't 180 days = tax resident?). the return air ticket query may have been to gauge if a further extension will be sought. i am also a retired long term visitor but keeping below 180 days per year. whether you are breaking any rules or not is somewhat unclear to me as IO rules and regulations are often applied inconsistently. your next tourist entry might be interesting. good luck.

Correct, I only mentioned 150 days in 215 days out to substantiate that i live in Australia and holiday in Thailand and it fits 5 VE's. "Official rules" suggest that getting a tourist visa for 30 day or less stays seems unnecessary plus I don't want to risk my passport getting lost or damaged by Australia Post in a near 8000 km return journey re Canberra visa issuance. I doubt very much that i will be refused entry maybe just asked to explain my circumstances. cheers
