Myself and my wife visited TRD on Samui back in July. Both of us produced our pink cards,( it specifically states on your card" This is not an ID card") and were issued with TIN cards. So different office ,different procedure.

He holds an international driver’s license. And an IDP? How long has he been in country,( must be a while if the police traced him through his license plate). Why has he no Thai license? Sounds a bit dodgy to me.

If you translate the reverse of the pink card, the first thing it says is,"This is not an ID card". Maybe this is the problem.

My wife and I recently renewed our non OA visas at Samui Immigration. Previously, regardless of staying in hotels and returning to our home, we never had to do TM 30's each time on our return. This time we were told that," your wife stayed at a hotel for 1 night in 2023 and you stayed 1 night in Hua Hin in March 2024 therefore you need to make new TM 30's". This is even though we returned to our home address each time,( lived here for 10 years ). So pick the bones out of that one!!!

As an ex Customs officer I can tell you that if the goods are used and personal and you are moving residence, as long as they are more than 6 months old you will not have any charges

Certainly at night Have done both numerous times over the last ten years, gone through police checkpoints and never had a problem.
