  1. Jet drives are the answer. No props. Drove one for ten years at work.
  2. Got our yellow housebook and pink cards in June of this year. Used a solicitor, who went with us to Tessabaan and amphora. Total cost, 7000 bhat,( total for me and my european wife). No hassle.
  3. For my uk state pension, my pharmacist signs. For my Dutch pension they accept immigration,(B500).
  4. As an ex uk Customs officer I have only one thing to say to you,Bollocking, you don't know the harm it does. These kids will now not have a father for a number of years. How is mama going to deal with that. If it was legally uk , dad would be stoned every da and not providing for hsi family. You have a very shallow understanding of the consequences for the family. Probably you don't have one. . .
  5. Always had to send off old UK passport to get a new one. Receive it back with the new passport.
  6. Did you have a 2 year license before and just renewed it for 5? If so then it is normal.
  7. Unless you live in Samui where Immigration refuse to do it. Unless of course you use an expensive agent.
  8. I just completed this quiz. My Score 50/100 My Time 143 seconds
  9. Myself and my wife visited TRD on Samui back in July. Both of us produced our pink cards,( it specifically states on your card" This is not an ID card") and were issued with TIN cards. So different office ,different procedure.
  10. He holds an international driver’s license. And an IDP? How long has he been in country,( must be a while if the police traced him through his license plate). Why has he no Thai license? Sounds a bit dodgy to me.
  11. I had my cataract done in Suratthani about 3 years ago at a then new eye hospital/clinic Cost B50,000. Excellent treatment.
  12. Same here(43 years) due to contracting out.
  13. If you translate the reverse of the pink card, the first thing it says is,"This is not an ID card". Maybe this is the problem.
  14. Living on Koh Samui myself, the answer to your two questions are: Yes and yes
  15. Retirement extension for what visa?
  16. My wife and I recently renewed our non OA visas at Samui Immigration. Previously, regardless of staying in hotels and returning to our home, we never had to do TM 30's each time on our return. This time we were told that," your wife stayed at a hotel for 1 night in 2023 and you stayed 1 night in Hua Hin in March 2024 therefore you need to make new TM 30's". This is even though we returned to our home address each time,( lived here for 10 years ). So pick the bones out of that one!!!
  17. Why do you think it would nullify double taxation agreements? Double taxation agreements would still legally operate. IE NO CHANGE THERE. Stop scaremongering and put your brain in gear.
  18. Traffic congestion, yet the government wants to build a bridge so that even more vehicles can come onto the island!!!.
  19. Pleasantly surprised at Samui Imm. t. his month as there was no charge for cor. Required passport, TM30 and copy of house book.
  20. You've misread the op. He wants to renew after he arrives in Thailand. Why, no-one knows. Should do it while still in the UK.
  21. As an ex Customs officer I can tell you that if the goods are used and personal and you are moving residence, as long as they are more than 6 months old you will not have any charges
  22. Certainly at night Have done both numerous times over the last ten years, gone through police checkpoints and never had a problem.
