  1. I did my own extension of stay at Jomtien on 8 September. The immigration officer took my photo on his mobile, as another IO did last year & the year before that. So it's not new but I don't know what it's for.
  2. The way the crane is lying its highly likely that he was trying to lift something that was too heavy with insufficient counter weights (Shown in the second photograph.
  3. My wife (Thai) & I ( Australian) have two sons, neither look Thai. Our eldest, 9 yo, attends Maryvit School in Pattaya & has not trouble with other children at school. Many Thai people want touch our 2 you when we go out, supposedly for good luck.
  4. I am told we already spend A$95.3B a tear on Abiriginal Affairs, etc. Which for the 400,000 true Aboriginals equal to over A$75,000 per year per individual. For a family of 4 that A$300,000 per year. Yet the Aboriginal people who are in need and have been for a long time are no better off. We don't need a Voice referendum we need a Royal Commission to find out where all this money is being wasted!!!
  5. Depending upon where you are going to live, we sent our 3 year old to Maryvit Education Cente in Na Kluae. He is now 9 & still there. We are very happy with the education & care of their students.
  6. Not my experience of living in Australia for 48 years
  7. Talking of Certificate of Residence, we wanted to sell one of our cars to another family in our housing estate. They are Chinese & told us that Immigration told them that they will no longer issue said certicates to Chinese citizens!?? They ended up using an 'agent' who charged 1,500 baht instead of the 300 baht that immigration normally charge, apparently (it used to be FOC). This is a blatant example of racial discrimination IMHO!!!
  8. As a retired commercial builder from Aust your ropsed construction methods appear to be sound. My major concern would be with 1.5M of filling material. We gave filled land in Khon Kaen about that depth with good fine grained soil. We propose to leave it at least three wet seasons before building anything on it. It appears that Thais rely on the rain to compact the earth as opposed to mechanical compaction in 300mm layers which is normal in WA. Your proposed construction will be in vain if you don't have a sound foundation.
  9. It would seem to me that you didn't fully understand the article. It is the restaurant at the front of the night club that is for sale & in the photograph.
  10. And of course the old Thai adage " it is always Farangs fault as if they come to Thailand accident not happen" 555
  11. They have another store on Soo So Country Club opposite the markets as well as one behind Num Chai on Sukumvit. Good staff, speak English
