You are correct...I don"t give a damn what anyone else thinks. But it does amuse me when farangs come over here with their fat, lily white, middle-aged wives. I can see them looking at tme and the wife and know they are crying inside.
No one cares, because those are freely available here for the ugliest.

By 15 years experience running an authentic Italian garden restaurant I can share with you, that Thais are - in many cases - difficult as they expect "Thai-style Italian" and "sapechian service" all the way.
Pizze must be thick manhole lids, served with Roza ketchup, the Bolognese sauce may not contain beef (as they don't eat beef) and Sriracha sauce has also no space on the Italian menu. Duck breasts must be cooked pink (medium) as well done results in chewy affairs. Upon ordering guests were told about it in their language to avoid misunderstandings yet Thais insisted on "well done". Once served, they drove the staff crazy over the chewiness - although they've been told about it ahead. Same with Salmon steaks which should be served slightly soft in the centre for ultimate flavour and dining pleasure. "Al dente" is the proper way to cook pasta; we had a "T" button on the POS system for "Thai" so the kitchen would know to overcook the pasta - as all Thais seem to have a problem with "pasta al dente" (which means slightly bitey - but properly cooked already).
Table manners = another highlight, specially with children shouting, roaming around and disturbing other diners. Asking parents to take care of their minions resulted in the standard reply was "you know how it is with children, ha ha ha ha".
Another issue was "corkage" for drinks they bring along. Our wine cellar stocked THB 300K; starting from affordable real Italian house wines at THB 120/glass and market-comparable priced spirits. They showed up with their boxes of Mont Clair and Castle Creek when we told them about the corkage - also shown in the menu. Every second bill with corkage resulted in discussions and nagging for discounts.
More breaking news came steadily from the (mainly ladies) rest rooms. A mother misused one of the sinks for a toilet bowl, washed the child's backside and did not even rinse; sanitary napkins in the ladies loo happened more than once, entire toilet rolls disappeared and once even the soap dispenser was forcefully semi detached. We had cloth towels to dry hands afterwards; within the first 18 months some 350 towels "disappeared" in God-only-knows-where and some were stolen by putting them into handbags without stuffing the towel in properly. We switched, against our standards, to paper towels instead which created a mess in the sink, toilet bowl or on the floor. Shoe prints on the ladies toilet ring were a monthly classic. The gents, preferring the toilet over the fully automatic urinals, were regularly out of focus and quite honestly, many gentlemen preferred leaving without washing hands!
My wife and me did the housekeeping check every hour to the hour ourselves - the rest rooms are the name card of a restaurant. We could identify the "culprits" on the CCTV recordings and in 95% of the incidents it showed Asians.
The staff was not too keen on their fellow compatriots for sometimes rude behaviour, trying to change each and every dish and leaving at the end, many times without leaving a tip. Latter is commonplace, I know, but explains, why 40 years ago a petrol station would blow out your air filter, fill up your wiper water tank and clean the windows, which I always appreciated with a nice tip. As Thais did not tip - that service element of at least cleaning front window disappeared.
Of course we would not "ban" Thai customers but given the choice, I could have easily done without that particular segment of the esteemed clientele.
Now I understand why cleaning ladies basically live in the restroom.

I plan to visit a Bangkok Bank at the other place we stay at and bring a person with me and my wife that works for the Ampur over there and also owns a popular sea food restaurant for Thai manily (great food, prices and location but simple and not to the expectations regards to a high standard as most farrangs look for). This person is a friend and close relative to my wife and recognised by most Thai over there. When my wife had some issues with Bangkok Bank previously of which one was to open new accounts it went suddenly no problems at all when this person was with her at Bangkok Bank. One issue was that she had also a Bangkok Bank - Udon Thani branch ”Fixed Account”. When she came back to Udon Thani she went closing this account as there is no point in have an account that only can be withdrawn money from at a Bangkok Bank in Udon Thani. It is not even possible to move money from the ”Fixed Account” to another acoount in Bangkok Bank via the Bangkok Bank Internet-bank. Is only possible move money into the Fixed Account”. Had I known this when opened this type of account like 5 years ago I had gone for another ”normal” savings account.
It's a bank, there's a branch on every corner. Spend 30 mins and visit a few, you will open a account quicker than a phone call to your wife.

Who is forcing folk music on anyone in Thailand to indoctrinate them and where? Thai music is one of the most varied forms of music there is. Nobody is obliged to listen or watch anything.

Who? Radio, tv, schools, parents

My now ex-wife ran into a parked car in the park aid of our building when learning how to drive, she was alone at the time.
She hit a 10 year old Honda with my Sport Rider, the car was quite banged up in the front due to the height difference.
Lady owner was upset with my wife, but upon seeing me (white guy) she went into hysterics in the parkaid.
Next day the onslaught started, phone calls, threatening letters under our condo door threating us with a Bangkok lawyer (we were in Jomtien)
I got a call from an English fellow who was her friend threatening all kinds of legal trouble for me, kicked out of the condo because she "knew" people, deported from Thailand etc.
She wanted
- her car fixed, she had inadequate insurance
- a Jaguar car rental while her car was being repaired
- 200,000 baht cash in compensation
I told her and her English friend to go f@#k themselves and the war was on.
My insurance company was useless, they wanted me to pay a bunch of money in settlement, I told them no
I hired a lawyer, the lawyer didn't want to fight but wanted to negotiate a settlement, I said no we go to court.
It took about 4 months to get into a court room
In court the lady Honda owner put on a Oscar worthy performance, crying about how she felt personal agony the moment her car was damaged, it was like her child, even collapsing in the court room.
The judge couldn't believe what he was witnessing, he said he'd had cases where people had died in car accidents and not been this emotional.
He called for a mediation between us and they gave the same demands as listed plus pay for their lawyer.
I said no.
Case was scheduled again for about 2 weeks later.
Judge called me and my wife into a private meeting and said he couldn't believe what was going on,
He offered to dismiss the case if I paid court costs and a small fee to her, total cost 40,000 baht for me.
I said yes, paid the money to the court and left.
The case came up for round 2, Honda lady and English boyfriend are licking their chops in anticipation of a pay day
The judge enters the courtroom, all rise.
He takes his gavel, says case dismissed and settled and bang job done.
Honda lady looses her s#$t and has to be escorted out of the court room
In the parking lot outside Honda lady tries to assault my 48kg wife, my wife, an Issan girl who takes zero s@#t from anyone up and punches Honda lady in the mouth and she goes down in the parking lot.
We get into my repaired Sport Rider and leave. No consequences from the little parking lot altercation.
Never a dull moment in the land of smiling people
Is 48kg heavy or not?

This is Thailand, why should the radio have western music all over it? Normal music for Thai is luktung, morlam, phua cheewit, string etc not western sounds. People will never be demanding international bands beyond a few such as Blackpink or BTS while they have such great music of thier own, one thing Thais have a genius for is music.
Thailand does not need inflated western ego's, some with minimal talent coming at enormous cost. The few that have appeared here like Elton John, the Gaga woman and potty mouthed Cardi B have not gone down that well. For tickets costing thousands of baht Thais expect to see a show and be entertained, turning up is not enough.
Variety is key. They like to indoctrinate from the young. Every country has its own folk and traditional music, doesn't mean it has to be forced 24/7

I once knew a Thai massage lady who asked for help filling out all the forms to pick berries in Sweden. She went and ended up marrying a Swedish bloke and is now a citizen living in that country.
Similarly, my Thai sister-in-law is in Sydney picking vegetables. She is paid $180 per day (4,000 Baht) per day, cash in hand. It is hard work, but she is a farmer from Isan and can manage. She recently met and will marry an Australian bloke.
I always tell Thai ladies looking for foreigners, do whatever you can to work in a foreign/western country. It is much easier to meet/marry someone once you are in that country, compared to Thailand.
Why is the marriage ultimate life goal

either the road has a separate chanote, then all 7 owns a share in company owning the road, this could make thing like utilities easier too if the electric company makes you pay for extending the power pole into the back plot
or you could hold on to the chanote to the road, but potential buyer of the plots would be weary of the status, I've been in situation where they 'developer' has mortgaged the road and technically could build anything on it later on
or the road is in the same plot as one of the plot, then record and easement for the other six into the chanote
What do u mean technically could build anything? Is there no legal requirement here to have a road to the plot?

How about start playing music other than traditional Thai whining on the radio, maybe people will start demanding international bands.
Blew my mind when I got a car and couldn't find a radio station with normal music except for one English speaking.

The dentist needs to dig out the roots - remove them entirely and treat the canal to kill bacteria. This is typically done in 3 sessions. After each session, they place a temporary filling over the canal. They are killing the tooth, although, by the time you need the root canal, the root is probably already dead and festering. The earlier you get to it, the better. If you have a toothache, don't wait.
I lost a molar tooth recently as one of the roots had broken off. RIP
This is done in 1-2 sessions. Very rarely 3

I am currently half way through this process, again.
Two sessions of RCT - Baht 6,700 for molar tooth (3 roots).
Estimated 3 sessions for crown work - Baht 14,500.
Work done by two dental specialists, who work in government hospitals, but do extra work at a private clinic.
Please share clinic, molar for this price, sounds too good to be true. I will travel to Hua hin or wherever you are based and spend remainder for holidays if its real :)
Why 3 sessions?

People replying you have no idea what they are talking about.
Prices for root canals vary depending on which tooth ad they can have 1-4 canals, the more canals they have the more it costs plus whatever complications dentist will encounter.
Big fancy clinics and hospitals will cost more and have lower quality of service while the cheaper ones you probably won't want to be in if you look at the age of the equipment.
With that said root canal can cost anything from 15-30k and the crown will be depending on materials and clinic 20-30k
Tell us which tooth and that will make estimation more accurate.
Any the way every dentist has price list online so you can just ask them about your case on line or read their website

Nothing. Those requirements are for issuing yourself work permit. I suggest you or your Thai partner read the law.
