May be the company will also get a Work Permit. I don't know I just mentioned that there are ads and he can follow through if he wants.
I am living part year in Thailand for more than 15 years, now of course trapped due to the virus. My agents do everything. Visas, driver's license, buying and selling cars,  90-day reports, TM-30, etc.,buying/selling condos every thing. I concentrate  on making money and share a miniscule portions with agents.

How much does this service cost @Mulambana?

  2. I chose the VT6 18th floor Seaview 1 bed 92 sqm condo that was just remodeled. (really cheat on the sqm counting the balcony).

was really hard choice between it and a 150 sqm seaview place in Jomtien that had the entire wall as openable door/windows looking at the view.

That and the fact the living areaspace was probably bigger than than the whole VT6 condo.   AND it was 2/3 the cost.  Although, the apt was getting dated in age and wear.

At the end of the day though, we chose the convenience of being in central and now at least having the options of sitting down in restaurants again.  Over there, would have only had a choice of like 3-4 restaurants to walk to.

And yeah...negotiated almost all properties to over 50% off... Everytime we said "maybe" they would throw a lower offer out lol.  Good time to be a renter.

Dream on; how old are you, anyway? Typically a young man's dream arising from a young man's insecurities.

You should be so lucky as to look as good any fit swimmer or gymnast.

I don't know how to respond to a comment that has so much vitriol in it.

    Order yourself a suspension trainer:

    and some resistance bands:

    https://www.lazada.co.th/catalog/?from=input&q=resistance bands&location=local

and in just a few days you'll have all you can handle. If not familiar with how effective these can be, check out the vids on youtube: I think you'll be surprised.

A door pullup bar might be nice, but on Lazada and Shopee the better ones come from China. A cardio machine would of course be major but maybe you have a space where you can walk or jog. Otherwise, if you exercise slowly and intensely w/ the above, breathing continuously during each rep, the cardio effect will be significant.

I ordered resistance bands and a door chin up bar.  The bar is great.

The bands were absolute garbage.  Not saying bands are garbage...just that these ones were. only thing useful from it was the handles that came with them.
Going to order another set and pray they aren't the same brand.

unless, you have that suspension trainer?  any real feedback on it if so?

  5. I'm going to check this out immediately.  VT6 guy wanted 3500 night non coronatimes for stays over 15 days.  asking us for 2000/night so 60k during these Virus times.  I'm having a hard time stomaching that even though it was 92 sqm and beautiful and new.

I think 45k is my MAX for a special place.  Wishing I would have grabbed that 11,000 1bd grand avenue place now.  I could have rented a s3cond studio on the beach for my office.  GF said no though.  I wonder why? LOL

@newnative Do you think places on hipflat will rent for 1-2 month times?  they all say one year

  6. @newnative From my understanding is that us as residents within the blockade...we can go wherever and come back.  Those who reside outside of it, cannot come in.  One guy even complaining that he had to drive 40km to go shopping while it's been up.

But I hear they are taking it down May 5th. So it would no longer matter.

I did find a very nice seaside 95 sqm 1 bed in VT6 yesterday.  Except it's about twice what I wanted to spend (65K for month) :(.

Something very similar in Jomtien is only 38k seaside one-2 blocks off the beach.  another similar one in Jomtien that is about 10 blocks off the beach but seaside is only 27k  (but no amenities like pool and gym if they ever open up again).

My biggest concern about Jomtien (as a long term visitor) is being so far from big supermarket and restaurants while having no car.  don't much care for riding a scooter in wet streets/rain.

Any thoughts on that kind of distance from  central area?

You may have misunderstood me.  The current blockade does not prevent travel to Jomtien from Pattaya, and I doubt any future blockades would.  When we got to the very southern part of Jomtien, past Espana condo,  we encountered a blockade on a small street we were on that prevented us from going any further south into the next municipality and we had to turn around at that point.

No.  I agree with you.  it doesn't prevent me from going to Jomtien from Central.  But if I LIVED in Jomtien, I believe a blockade would prevent me from then going TO Central.  Yes?

its a long time ago, but if i remember well the vt6 condo i refer to

was a corner unit with 2-3 rooms + kitchen, big rooms too,

i have never seen so nice condo

we looked.  that unit is VERY pricey even in these times.  wanting 3000baht per night

You've always been able to go from central Pattaya to Jomtien.  My partner and I have driven from central Pattaya to Lumoini Park Beach condo in south Jomtien several times to check on a condo for a friend in Europe.

Correct. Which is why if there is a blockade, I will stay in Central instead of move to jomtien.  And central is not bad right now, since the circus closed down.

For me, I prefer Jomtien.  Not quite as chaotic as Pattaya yet you are very close to it if you want to go out.  There are plenty of places to stay and a lot of empty units.  I would definitely offer much less than what they ask.  Leases are also negotiable.  Due to so many empty units you can ask for a lot of things to your advantage.  Sure a lot of landlords won't budge but you only need a few to offer something agreeable to you.

@Hanuman2547  Are teh roadblocks gone?  or can You go from Jomtien to Central still?

If I can go from Jomtien to central, I think I'd move there for the bigger, newer places.  If they keeping the blockade up, it's best if I stay inside it with access to all the amenities in Central/Beach.

but time is ticking on securing a place in the next few days.  time to choose.

  10. @scubascuba3  you have a link in regards to this?

I'm trying to decide where to move next.  If I can go from Jomtien to central, I think I'd move there for the bigger, newer places.  If they keeping the blockade, it's best if I stay inside it with access to all the amenities in Central/Beach.

but time is ticking on securing a place.
