Typical standard guage line accident where a small object across one line or speed can derail a whole train , this happened on a straight run ?
It's metre gauge on that stretch is it not?

Bank transfer is how all the Thai ladies at work do it.

Just reading latest on travel insurance ' it is highly unlikely that you will get travel insurance to cover against COVID19'
If that is true the world is still closed unless people are willing to take a risk. Definitely no entry to the Kingdom.
Thailand should be congratulated on the containment of the diseases.
Thailand is probably the safest place in the world right now so they have no reason to allow others into the Kingdom.
Spot on

I've lived there full time for over 25 years so don't consider myself a "wannabe" expat. Some of us had to leave for work overseas, so didn't have a choice to get back before the airports closed. Everyone's situation is different and not as black and white as some TV members think.
Of course you had a choice not to go to work.
It was obvious since the end of Feb that the borders might close and the Thai Centre for Disease Control issued regular updates.

70% of clever Thais oppose International tourism.
Do they think the country's money grows on trees?

It's all kicking off now on social media.
Don't think there's been so much hatred and disdain for a Thai administration or Thailand in general since I arrived here 31 years ago.
Tourism will never recover if they continue like this. Wholesale changes needed.

And the economy goes down the drain.... Many Thai people are left without income. ????
A bunch of confused retirees and returning offshore workers that married girls with dubious pasts and needy families are not going to save the Thai economy.
They would need to open up the borders completely and that is an enormous risk at the moment. An enormous risk.

They don't want to go to other countries, they want to come to Thailand, many to re-unite with their families, its distressing to them but entertainment to you.
Surely some must be considering flying their families out of Thailand given the current uncertainty?
I certainly would be.

While process appears to be reasonable costs are not.
you looking at at least 100000 baht to come back
50000-60000 hotel, covid insurance, covid tests, expansive flight
Thailand finally getting its wish of only the rich being able to visit.
Ironic.

Repat flights on 19th 26th with Eva Air
Eco Full. Business £2500
ASQ seems to be selling out, cheapest 4 are full.
Need to have covid checks, Fit 2 Fly cert & all docs at Check-in.
it’s expensive... but what’s the value of time with family?
It wasn't enough value to stop folk leaving at the start of, or during a global pandemic apparently.
What will you do if you have to go back to work again in two months' time?
You may find you have to repeat this whole rigmarole all over again!

Thais shouldn’t have to do anything at all to come home. It’s madness that their own government makes their own people jump through hoops just to come to their homeland.
And legitimate family members of Thais should be prioritized after Thai citizens or at the same time as thai citizens.
I also expect that many countries with reciprocate Thailand’s entry policy towards Thais wanting to visit their country as well.
It’s all madness but you know what? I think the thai gov has been wanting this for a long time and Covid is just the excuse they needed.
Thai nationals first and then residents and taxpayers, with spouses and family next in line. Absolutely as it should be.
The Thais got their priorities 100% correct IMO.
The Thai mentality will be thus: the foreigner is married to a Thai, living in Thailand, why is he not working here? I experienced it before myself when I worked offshore and used Thailand as a base. They simply can't and won't understand why you are in and out all the time. If you are old, then they will automatically think you married a sex worker as you are past your sell-by-date.
Given there's a large percentage of males that marry to stay in the country and a large percentage that married sex workers I wouldn't say you were wrong about the Thai govt. wanting to get rid of us.
Retirees, duped elite visa holders and property owners are s*** out of luck. Caveat emptor.

Tourism for this year is dead and buried and maybe well into 2021. This country's economy is going to hit an all time low. I may just sell my Thai Baht now!
Get it into Bitcoin, gold or other appreciating assets and out of fiat and out of the hands of the banks.

All over the world animals are used for profit.
Cows for milk.
Dogs do a variety of work.
Sheep for meat and wool.
And it goes on
I wish people like would get there heads out of the sand.
None of you have a clue as to what goes on around world.
So stop looking like a fool.
I think the fools are the ones making inane comparisons with other industries and practices to cover up or divert attention from the topic at hand.
