Concerns are being raised about the potential damage to Thailand’s overall tourism market due to a documentary by German media organisation Deutsche Welle (DW), which highlights Pattaya as a sex tourism destination. This documentary is currently blocked in Thailand.
Marisa Sukosol Nunbhakdi, the president of the Thai Hotels Association (THA), recalls a similar report about sex tourism in Pattaya from Germany around 20 years ago. That incident significantly affected the city’s tourism industry as it resulted in a substantial drop in visitor numbers.
Marisa emphasised the need for improved law enforcement to address the issue of illegal sex workers, a problem that has plagued Pattaya and other Thai destinations for several years.
She also acknowledged that despite Pattaya’s evolution into a destination offering a diverse range of tourist attractions for families and the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) segment, it remains a challenge to fully eradicate the city’s sex tourism reputation.
In addition to her role as THA president, Marisa is the owner of three hotels in Pattaya. She proposed that the local administration and private sector could mitigate the issue by consistently promoting alternative tourism products and attractions to gradually replace the city’s sex tourism, reported Bangkok Post.

Here we are in 2023 and people are still freaked out about sex. And sex just keeps happening! Why, oh why, can't we just stop having sex?! Screw sex!!!
By the way, isn't prostitution legal in Germany? This is the pot calling the kettle black.
If they'll stop having sex in Germany maybe the rest of the world will follow.

No. Make sure you do not have a valid reentry stamp for your current visa or you'd have to leave twice to terminate your current visa.
I assume that if I haven't specifically applied for a reentry permit or stamp, then I don't have one. Is that right?

Is there a minimum amount of time I will need to stay out of the country before returning as a tourist?

I am planning to switch from an OA to an O retirement visa in order to dump the health insurance requirement. Before proceeding I want to double-check that the O visa still does not have a health insurance requirement. Any up-to-date info will be greatly appreciated.

I had my last Covid booster about a year ago (October 2022) at Jomtien Hospital. I planned to return in a year and get an annual Covid booster at the same time as my annual flu shot. To my surprise, Jomtien Hospital, Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, and Pattaya International Hospital are NOT currently offering Covid boosters. This is weird. After all the hysteria of the past few years I assumed Covid boosters would be here to stay in the same way as flu shots are. They are definitely being rolled out and recommended in the USA.
Does anyone know why Covid boosters are not being offered by these Pattaya hospitals? And is there a high quality hospital or clinic in the Pattaya area where they are being offered?

According to Wikipedia the "Unrestricted" age of consent in Thailand is 18. I don't know about you fellows, but as I don't care to bed down in a Thai jail I will definitely not be having sex with any Thai woman under the age of 20 or 21, just to leave a margin of error. And if she looks very young I'll ask to see her ID.
By the way, women in their 30s and 40s have much more developed sexuality. In a word, they're hotter than younger women.

I've had tinnitus for maybe 20 years. When it was first diagnosed, in the US, the doctor told me the main thing is to not allow it to bother me. And he was right, it doesn't bother me.
By all means get checked out and make sure it's nothing more serious, but if it's ordinary tinnitus, forget about it and get on with your awesome life. :-)
I assume any competent ENT doc can check you out. Since you're in Bangkok, try Bangkok Hospital. In my experience they're the best hospital in BKK.

At 6 baht, plus delivery, these things are worth a try. I just ordered them.
Making sure the feet are level is also good advice.
Yes, it's a front loader. I'm not sure to what extent I can balance the load.

I'd bung it on a thick rubber mat.
Also, check the transport bolts have been removed from the back of the drum.
Thick rubber mat I understand. What are transport bolts, and how would they cause the machine to move?
Where would I get a thick rubber mat, cut to order?

I moved into a new condo rental in Jomtien a few days ago. There's a washing machine on the balcony. I threw in a few dirty towels and ran a wash. When I checked later the washing machine had moved away from its original position.
Is there a way to secure a washing machine on a balcony so it doesn't move? And is there a competent mechanic in Pattaya/Jomtien who does this sort of work?

To follow up: I had Big Key in today and I was very happy with his work.

I'm looking for a skilled, honest locksmith serving Jomtien.
Skilled because I have an old German high-security lock that needs replacing. It now has zero keys.
Honest, so that he won't sell a key to his burglar friend.
If you know anything about this person's rates, please include this in your reply.
Thanks in advance for your help!

@domdom Thanks for that lead.
Did he supply you with the cardboard boxes? If not, where did you get them?

I will be moving soon, probably from one room to another within Jomtien. Does someone know of a man-with-van who can help me with the move? This would include bringing me packing supplies like boxes, packing tape, and wrapping paper, then loading up the van and moving my stuff into the new room. I don't have any heavy furniture; mainly kitchen stuff, a computer monitor, folding table, office chair.
Hopefully this guy is responsible and good-natured. By the way, what should I expect to pay for his services?
Thanks in advance for any leads!

They are on Lazada also, but shipping from China. Will do what you are after though.
I got the product through Lazada and installed it just now. It was easy to install by hand, no tools necessary. So far seems to work fine.

It’s no different than the locally sourced products you have already been told of. However if you don’t want to go into your local store, it will work, though the control is smaller so not as good.
I believe it is different. It goes right on the hose, flush with the sprayer. Not under the toilet.

I found a product on Amazon.com that looks like it might do the trick. Do any plumbing experts reading his think it might, or might not, work? Here's the link:
The seller says it's designed to work with a "bidet sprayer", which I guess is a nice way of saying a bum gun.

Do you mean feeding the cistern or for the bum gun????
I will assume the bum gun. You need to squeeze the trigger gently.
Yes, I mean the bum gun.

When I want to adjust the pressure of the jet of water provided by my toilet hose I have to get down on my hands and knees and tweak the water pressure valve located near the bottom of the toilet. I can never get the pressure right. It's always painfully strong, or ineffectively weak. Is there a toilet hose for sale where the hose head lets you adjust the strength of the stream of water coming out of it?
If the answer is yes, could you please provide the brand, model number, and hopefully a website where I can order it? A photo would also be nice.

Yes.
Also ask landlord for screenshot of TM30 to take to immigration when you apply for your non O
@DrJack54 You mention a screenshot so I assume my landlord can do this online. Do you happen to know the link of the website where he can file the TM30 online. I want to make this as easy as possible for him so it actually gets done.

I am currently living in Thailand on an O-A retirement visa. I am planning to switch to a Non-O. To begin the process I've planned a 2-day round trip, by air, to Cambodia later this month.
I rent a condo. When I return I'll no longer be on an O-A visa but on a 45 day visa exempt. Should my landlord file a new TM-30 for me when I return?

O retirement visa: Still no insurance requirement?

I'm in the 6th year of my O-A visa. So no automatic re-entry permit after the first year would apply in my case, right?
