  1. Recently when applying for a Non-O Visa (by Marriage) extension, we were told to "update" our Kor Ror 22 Marriage Cert that was issued 12 years ago at our Amphur in Bangkok.

    1. What documents do we need to bring for this "update" at the Amphur?

    2. I recalled that we needed 2 Thai witnesses when we first applied for the Kor Ror 22 twelve years ago; do we need any witnesses for this update?

    3. Do I need to go through the hassles of securing (a) my home country's Foreign Ministry to authehticate my marriage cert  (b) get the Thai Embassy at my home country to translate my marriage cert.

    4. Any other documentation needed?

Appreciate any advice and guidance. Thanks.

  2. Thanks Dr Jack and yeahbutif, I can't do the extension earlier as I'm restricted by the 2-month 400K sanitization of my funds. The earliest I can do the extension is in the week of 8 April and I'll be away then. Guess I;ll do the 60-day extension first. What's the earliest date I can do the 60-day extension if my visa is expiring on 15th April? Do they need the 400K sanitizatio too?

  3. My annual Non-O Marriage visa will be expiring in mid-April 2024. Just checking if there are any updates to the requirements (My IO is at Chaeng Wattana, Bangkok):

    1. Bank account showing >THB400K "seasoned" (lay-over) for >2 months prior to application date. Is this still the requirement as I read somewhere that we need to "seasoned" the deposit for >3 months prior to application date.

    2. New TM30 approval required using the new TM30 website process? My TM30 was done 5 years ago and I am still living at the same address and my 90-Day report is current, at the same address.

    3. Other "changes", if any since March 2022.

    Thanks. Appreciate any feedback.

PS: Apologies if the above had  been addressed elsewhere in this forum.

  4. I have a MULTIPLE Re-Entry Permit valid until 15 December 2023 (same expiry date as my Non-O Marriage Visa). I have just applied for an extension of my visa and has received the "Under Consideration" stamp valid until 28 December 2023.

However I need to travel overseas on 22 December 2023; can I still use my Re-Entry Permit or do I need to apply for a new one?

    Any advice appreciated.

Here is old thread, however the OP lists what he provided and ubonjoe points out few things.

Assume that you previously did your annual extensions at CW.

Don't overlook doing a TM30 when you move to HH

Tks Dr Jack. As the old post was done in 2016, I think there will be changes since then. Anyone care to chip in?

  6. I am on a Non-O Marriage Visa and we plan to move from BKK to Hua Hin soon. Appreciate if anyone can advise on the following:

    1. Are the Immigration processes and procedures in Hua Hin Immigration exactly the same as those in Chaeng Wattna for Marriage Visa Extension? If not, please elaborate.

    2. -ditto- for 90-day report and TM30 Notice of Address.

Thank you in advance for any pointers.

  7. 1. My existing 90-day report was due to expire on 9th January 2023.

    2. I went overseas on 23rd December 2022 and returned to BKK on a re-entry permit (Non-O Marrigae Visa)  on 1st January 2023.

    3. Am I correct to say that my existing 90-day report (due 9th January 2023) has been invalidated and I no longer need to submit a 90-day report before 9th January?

    4. So, am I correct to say that my new 90-day report based on my entry on 1st January 2023 will be due on/14 days before 31st March 2023?

    Appreciate advice. Thanks.

  8. I am going to renew my 2-year Thai Driving License to 5 years. One of the documents needed is the Residence Certifcate.

    1. I understand that MTT (Muang Thong Tani) is now closed; so I need to go to Chaeng Wattana (CW), is that correct?

    2. I logged into the CW Online Appointment web-page but was not able to find the link to make an appoinment for residence certificate. Does this mean I do not need to make an appointment and I can just walk in to get this done?

Appreciate your advice and any pointers. Thanks.

In person, ground floor, building 4, on the right side after walking in the front door. There are 2 counters for foreigners on the left. After checking documents and making sure all is in order, they'll give you a piece of paper for first available date, and ask you to put your name in there along with your passport or pink ID number, and phone number. That's your date and time of appointment. They are all for the morning only, it seems. At least a month back, the queue was about 2 weeks.

You'll be given application form there, and fill it out in front of the counter while the officer is checking your documents. They'll then be stapled together and stamped. The rest of documents listed are already posted by someone else.

There were a few in a queue at 1 pm when their lunch break was over, but there was nobody at 10 am, walked straight to counter. So I'd say 10 am was good, but even normally there were not many people.

Yes, upon completion it states that it is valid 6 months. At least Thai version is. That's just answering 4 questions correctly from a multiple choice answers. No idea how the foreigner version looks like.

Thanks for the info. So, if I have to personally make an appointment, does this mean there.s more than a likely chance I will have to go back a second time to take the physical test? Or can all this be done on the same day - make appointment, take test, take photo and collect new licence?

  10. Appreciate if anyone who had recently (as in the last 2 weeks) renewed his Driving Licence at Chatuchak to give advice on:

    1. Do I have to make an appointment? If yes how and where to log in?

    2. What application form do I need to fill in and what other documents (and copies) are required?

    3. What is the best time to go to the DLT at Chatuchak?

    4. Can I take the online eLearning test earlier than 3 months? For example my DL is expiring in February 2023, can I do the test now in October 2022 and apply for the DL in November? Reason is that I will be away from end November 2022 thru April next year..

Thanks in advance for any advice and guidance.

You only need to the $50,000 covid 19 insurance to enter the country and it has to be valid for the permit to stay you get when entering the country with a re-entry permit.

I'm on a Non-O Marriage visa and I plan to fly out for a couple of days in December and return with a re-entry permit. Can I purchase this $50K insurance in Bangkok before I fly out? Any recommendations for an insurance provider?
