Hello testing 1-2-3, can anyone read me, over! So I had almost 12 month Visa and left VN March 7th 2020 to visit MY. On 18/Mar/2020 MY was locked down and I'm still here. All my important papers, laptops, clothing, video equipment & etc are still in VN, as I had expected to return from MY after only a few days. I'm American and quite stressed about at least obtaining my personal belongings from VN. If anyone is out there and receives this message, then ANY advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated. Over!

Am a senior citizen, US pensioner whose ER visa has obviously expired. Almost 4 years living in KH. Had come into Malaysia for a week when the lock downs happened last March. I've been paying $150/mo rent in SHV and had long ago decided the value of my things could have been repurchased several times had I just told the landlord I'm not coming back soon. I just don't believe it will be that difficult to locate another place for rent should the borders reopen. There was massive construction all over my neighborhood (OP-02) when I went on vacation. Anyway, I've decided to inform him this week (10/2021) to clean the room and prepare to lease it to whomever wants it. I don't see the border opening soon and am only concerned about keeping my SMART prepaid active, and sending W.U. into my Maybank ATM card.

My pensions are direct deposited into a USA bank. I use the ATM card for PayPal purchases and for ATM machines in VN. Never paid attention to the fees charged by the ATM for withdrawing MILLIONS of VND which would last me the entire month. In the Phils I used both BPI & BDO but discovered BDO was too restrictive when I was traveling from Ilocos Norte down to Zamboanga. Withdrew USD then exchanged them for pesos at any outside money changer to recover whatever I could. Money changers ALWAYS did better than either bank. As this is an older post and you've likely solved your issue, hopefully others reading this will have gained knowledge via my experiences.
