  1. Update: last night my landlord submitted a TM30 online and sent us a screen grab saying it was Approved. Today I went to HH immigration with all the supporting documentation thinking I also needed to update immigration on my new address via the TM28. Turns out that is unnecessary as we were told there is nothing for me to do since the landlord did it online. What a pleasant surprise! Thanks again.
  2. I am here on a retiree extension and have moved today from one location in PKK province to another. Can someone please provide guidance on which forms I will need to complete and what other documents I will need to bring to immigration? I assume I will need to complete the TM28, anything else? What do I need from the landlord? They are very nice people but do not have much experience renting to expats. Thanks.
  3. Thanks Joe and Pattaya Spotter for your responses. I should have been clearer that this would actually be my second report, not first, but based on your replies I don’t think that matters. Sounds like the clock gets reset to 90 days from re-entry.
  4. I will be out of Thailand when my 90 day report is due and the grace periods will not help. Is there anything I need to do in this situation? What will happen when I return to Thailand and my 90 day report date has passed? On a non-O extension. Thanks.
  5. Thanks to all who recommended AA insurance brokers. They have been extremely helpful in narrowing down my health insurance options. At this point it’s down to CIGNA and Pacific Cross. For me (65, male, one pre-existing: hypertension) Pacific Cross’ premiums are substantially lower than CIGNA’s. Looking for feedback, experiences, etc. on which of these two is better to work with (especially when it comes to paying claims which I hope I never submit, but also customer service, premium increases, ease of policy renewal, etc.). Thanks.
  6. Thanks for the suggestion I definitely will check into Pacific Cross.
  7. 4MyEgo, thanks for the valuable info. Someone else was kind enough to private message me suggesting I contact AA insurance brokers as well, so I definitely will do that. Which insurance company did you go with?
  8. Etaoin, thanks for the info about life insurance and tax ramifications. Yes I am aware they are a life insurance company. According to my Thai friend (and also my gf) in order to purchase health insurance from any company in Thailand one must first purchase their life insurance. That sounds strange to me but have you or anyone else heard of that before? Also, if you are an expat living in Thailand do you purchase insurance? It’s odd that several people have recently requested recommendations and I don’t see many replies though common sense tells me there must be thousands of expats in this situation. Thanks.
  9. Looking for health insurance company/policy recommendations. I’m a 65 year old male from the USA on non-O extension, reasonably good health with one pre-existing condition, high blood pressure. I have Medicare parts A and B back in the USA and am looking for coverage here in Thailand. A Thai friend who works for AIA is recommending their policy. Has anyone had experience with that company? Thanks for any suggestions.
  10. I am here on a non-O immigrant visa that expires January 31. I had a phone conversation today with someone at the main immigration office for Prachuap Khiri Khan about the process for extending it and apparently I missed the boat as there is not enough time to open a bank account and have the 800k deposited two months prior to the visa expiration. His suggestion is that I apply for the 60 day Covid extension. He told me to email the US Embassy and request a letter. Due to language difficulties I did not understand what letter he was referring to. Is there anyone who is familiar with this process who knows what the immigration person is talking about and what I should ask the Embassy for? Thanks.
  11. Thanks for your reply. We went to Pranburi for two nights. It is beautiful on the coast but one needs a car as there are no taxis/buses.
