  1. The public hospitals here in Sakon Nakhon would make you second guess even getting the most minor procedure done. Udon Thani is the closest place that has descent public hospitals in our area. Wouldn't insurance cover that procedure in any case?
  2. If I was in Bangkok I'd get rid of the big SUV. I'd prefer just a smaller sedan. I've got a big family so a car is just a necessity. Feels safer also during this prolonged pandemic. The mass transit is filled with filthy falang. Enjoy your week.
  3. Good for you. Many kids in Hua Hin have begun their vaccines. Takes a little longer here in Issan unfortunately.
  4. Yeah, Thats what I want to do. Follow some guys posts on Thaivisa. Oh please, get over yourself.
  5. I agree. Get the kids vaccinated. I'll be getting our two children vaccinated as soon as its available.
  6. Fatigue, headache, and my right leg was numb.
  7. I just took my Moderna booster 3 months and a week after my second Pfeizer shot. The nurse gave me a second look but said ok. I wanted to get it done as hordes of people are trying to get the booster. Hospital beds are filling up so I wanted to get it done because Omicron is damned contagious. Although many have mild symptoms, many also get sick enough to need acute care Go for it, especially Moderna.
  8. His family owns the company that will eventually build the track and infrastructure. He's the president. https://th.linkedin.com/in/anutin-charnvirakul-b26233163
  9. "80% of accidents involved motorcycles. Update New Year Period 2019-2020 : The number of fatalities decreased to 373, which seems to be substantial (-19.4 % compared to the previous year). There were 3,421 road accidents with a total of 3,499 people injured. Per province, most people died in the capital Bangkok (15) this year. As before, most vehicles involved in accidents were motorcycles, making up 83 % of the total." https://m.thaiwebsites.com/caraccidents.asp Much safer to drive a car, or like myself, a luxury SUV.
  10. I just spent two weeks cruising around Thailand. Stopping anywhere I wanted. I enjoy driving though. Roads are pretty good. I've never had an accident the 20 years I've been here. Your probably better of sticking to public transportation and people driving you around if you're frightened. Also cars aren't cheap here. Definitely worth it if you plan on living here and enjoy the freedom of traveling on your own timetable. Maybe start out with a skateboard and work your way up.
  11. Yes, You might want to shop at Makro. Also you want to travel around and not depend on taxis and public transportation. Especially during the rainy season. If you can afford it and have parking available, having a car opens up sorts fun and exciting possibilities!
  12. Sound's more like a Yaba episode than alcohol. Ice and Yaba can turn people into monsters.
  13. "Yes, the COVID-19 vaccines are recommended, even if you had COVID-19. At present, evidence from Johns Hopkins Medicine and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) supports getting a COVID-19 vaccine as the best protection against getting COVID-19, whether you have already had the virus or not." https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/coronavirus/covid-natural-immunity-what-you-need-to-know Smart thing to do is get vaccinated. period.
  14. Thanks. I actually got my Moderna booster at Vihavadi Hospital in Bangkok at 3 months and 1 week. Both of us we're double vaxxed with Pfeizer. My friend who joined me was at 4 months. Nurse did a double take but let us through. I actually had a bad reaction with terrible aches in my right leg 10 hours later Bad enough to go to a hospital. Outpatient with some pain medicine. I ended up staying 3 extra nights in our Bangkok hotel. I've a long 10 hours drive home to Issan but I'm feeling good now. Despite the pain I'm glad I got the booster.
  15. He was probably doing the same thing during the relationship. What a loser.
  16. Hmmmmm! I'd say something but everyone else already knows that's total b*ls***.
  17. It is. Not only that traveling now unvaccinated is getting more difficult. 'One study published in late October 2021 by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found unvaccinated adults who tested positive three to six months earlier were five times more likely to test positive for the virus than vaccinated adults who hadn’t previously been infected" https://m.dw.com/en/omicron-is-natural-immunity-better-than-a-vaccine/a-60425426 If you end needing hospitalization there's virtual not many rooms available and if you do happen to get a private room it'll run upwards of 20,000-30,000 baht a day. Getting vaccinated to Lower your risk is the smart thing to do.
  18. OMG. That's going to be expensive. Try to get into a hospitel. Good luck and sorry to hear about your situation. That's why people don't want to get tested at some official place. It'll bankrupt you.
  19. Sounds great for a single guy. Restaurants, clubs, transportation. I bet theres a lot of swanky condos for excellent prices! I would assume its a renters market.
  20. Smarter to get vaccinated. If you come down with COVID your less likely to crowd the already packed and overwhelmed hospitals. Bangkok Hospital in had no more room's available Thursday. You may still get COVID-19,have milder symptoms and actually have super immunity.
  21. Thats all you need to know. FoodPanda seems more limited than Grab.
  22. Its dead. However its great if you don't mind a little solitude. Great for couples and perhaps family. Prices are so cheap and the beaches of Krabi are some of the finest in Asia. Don't expect a party.
