    Great coverage, but has anyone noticed a bit of jerkiness from time to time on their World Cup channels? The picture doesn't stop. But it doesn't flow as well, it's like it's missing a few frames. Never had this problem before on any of their astro channels.

    Just wondered what everyone else's experience has been?

    I'm a little bit fed up.... Drinking has finally done a proper number on me I can't sleep and my thoughts and actions are erratic. What next I don't know... But I have to get a grip on this once and for all. How I do this I don't know.

    Cheers graham. I'm tired of the hangovers, wasted time, time lost through drinking, such as blackouts, which tbh are a lot less frequent. Sometimes I go home at a read noble hour and function fine the next day and week... Sometimes I drink for 4-5 days before I finally take a break... Sometimes I drink a couple, sometimes I'm still drinking til sunrise. My sessions vary a lot between social drinking and what I consider abnormal drinking. But it is on my mind that my level of drinking has increased over the last 10 years. I'm going to an AA meeting tmrw... When I drink sociably, get home at a reasonable hour and have a productive day, I wonder what I'm worrying about. When I wake up the next day after a near 12hr session and want to continue drinking worries me. I'd love to find an answer to why I do that but I haven't yet. Many AA meetings have stories similar to mine. The addiction just grows inside of you more, unless you seek help perhaps.

    For some reason I cannot get any sound on CTH cable channel 137. Can anyone kindly suggest a solution? I tried the call centre without success. Many thanks.

    I have satellite, but I know that by pressing the audio button repeatedly it gives you different audio channels. Try that.

    CTH Live Premier Football What Channel

    Stadium 6 is now the Premier League TV channel, with John Dykes and Co. from UK. (Previously Stadium 7, CTH now done away with split screen channel). So, if you ask your condo manager to allocate one channel to stadium 6, then you will always get the biggest live games on any given day on that channel in English. (channel 136 on satellite).

    This happened to me so I unpluged the box for 5 minutes then it was fine.

    Is the GMM channel available on CTH yet? They show the championship I believe?

    Talking of which, Leicester are flying bb, you must be well chuffed...

    over the moon with Leicester's performances at the moment... No easy games in the champ, so we may need that 13point cushion between us and burnley in 3rd.... Hopefully we make it the perfect 10 vs Watford next Saturday!

    RS is a media company that have the sunbox, which shows la liga and will show the World Cup. They have done a deal with PSI to broadcast their la liga channel and World Cup channels. CTH have also done a deal with PSI to broadcast the EPL on this platform too. I did read they might talk with TRUE / CTH about HD rights. Not sure if PSI deal is that agreement for HD rights though. As you prob know RS is in a court battle with NBTC about free to air World Cup games. If a deal to broadcast via TRUE or CTH is agreed, I doubt it'll be until this is sorted. At present as the RS World Cup deal was agreed prior to NBTC "must have" ruling of 2 years ago, it is likely that only 22 games will be on free TV.

    RS Have World Cup rights not GMM. It appears that all CTH footy channels will be made available on GMM. Vice versa with all GMM sport channels amongst others being made available on CTH for no extra cost to current subscribers. I think GMM customers who want EPL will pay 999bht p/m.... Why it's taken so long to agree an arrangement like this is beyond me!

    Went back to AA yesterday. Yes it is better than getting drunk and making an idiot of myself at the pub. I thought I could control my drink, as I did for 2 months, by calling it a night at a reasonable hour and not heading into town. Last weekend was the first weekend in ages when I got out if control and couldn't remember things if said or done. That's not normal.

    So I'll give it a go.... I did 7 weeks dry middle of last year and felt great for it.... God knows why I went back, but I want that feeling of being back in control and reliable to myself, jobs and relationships.

    It's a case of breaking a life long habit.... It's a case if having more time that I would use to spend in bars on something more productive. As I feel now I'll miss some of the fun times I had going out partying till sunrise... But that love affair with booze and partying is becoming sour now, so it's time to get a divorce :)

    Fingers crossed I succeed this time.

    Some do take the piss with price. I understand inflated quotes if off the beat and track or put the way of their normal route... But some prices are daft. As I said play then off each other and the price goes down for sure.

    I was behind two Chinese girls who flagged down a selor and wanted to go from near Thapae Gate to Kad Suan Kaew. They showed the driver a map, pointed, and said the name itself quite clearly. The driver gave a puzzled look, asked to see the map as one of the girls pointed and repeated the name. After 20-30 seconds of intense confusion on the part of the driver, he finally decided that he could wend his way to Kad Suan Kaew, and do so for a paltry sum of 600 baht... each. To their credit, the young ladies simply looked at each other, smiled, said something in Mandarin, shook their heads and walked off. I leaned in the window, asked (in poor Thai) to be taken to the gas station just past Kad Suan Kaew. The driver nodded, and I got in. Paid my 20 baht when I got off, and didn't think any the less of the driver who tried his best to make his day in one trip. Caveat emptor.

    Caveat emptor ok but that blatant profiteering makes us look like Pattaya.Now if he had charged them 100baht each then fair game, but 1200baht for a 10 minute drive-no way.

    I have used the songthaew's now for 7 years and never once been asked for more than 60 baht. Which I refused.

    I find it helpful when approaching a Songthaew to say hello in Thai before I even mention where I want to go.

    The official price for a trip around C M city is 20 baht, not whatever they think they can get away with because it's a farang ATM. If some posters on here think they should pay more just because they are rich, do they also pay 5 times the meter price when using a Bkk taxi?

    No I do not wai them.

    They are more advanced in thinking than you are. They do niot expect it from a farong and to say hello in Thai lets them know that you are polite and also not just off the boat. If you approach them with the attitude I am sensing from you here they are going to be less likely to accept the 20 baht price. Be polite and if they quote a figure to high politly suggest another price. Don't go running home to post how a songthaew driver tried to rip you off.

    Not sure I think the official price is 17 baht but be what it is to ask them to go some where that they figure will not allow them to pick up other fares it is only natural for them to ask for more. I would not be surprised to see them asking for a higher fare with the traffic getting to be as blocked up as it is now. They depend on many passengers to make their living.wai.gif

    true, many available so can def get a price acceptable. Although some, not all, do take the piss at times. As u said earlier. Just play them off each other so they come down to something reasonable.
