Bangkok Bank statement saying where funds are from?
At risk of (again) of being called profligate, I don't see how anyone would bother with WISE for their 65K monthly deposit when one can without fail get the FTT on their monthly transfer by not using WISE.

Georgia Supreme Court denies Trump bid to quash Fulton County investigation
From the Guardian link above: The specific evidence was not clear, though the charge regarding influencing witnesses could include Trump’s conversations with Georgia’s secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, in which he asked Raffensperger to “find” 11,780 votes, the people said – and thereby implicate Trump. *** However maybe the more incriminating part of the coversation just precedes the 11,780 vote request: And you are going to find that they are — which is totally illegal, it is more illegal for you than it is for them because, you know what they did and you’re not reporting it. That’s a criminal, that’s a criminal offense. And you can’t let that happen. That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer. ... You know, I mean, I’m notifying you that you’re letting it happen. So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have because we won the state. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/01/03/politics/trump-brad-raffensperger-phone-call-transcript/index.html

Jared Kushner and Ivanka Flipping on Donald Trump: Michael Cohen BY NICK MORDOWANEC ON 7/14/23 AT 4:55 PM EDT Michael Cohen, former attorney and so-called "fixer" for Donald Trump, believes Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump are turning against the former president as more witnesses offer insight into his role during the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. (Cohen) also referred to them as "inside moles," adding that he has no information to prove it. "Jared does not want to see the inside of a prison cell," Cohen said. "He knows what it's like through his father's eyes, he knows how difficult it was for him and his siblings. He doesn't want to do the same thing to his children." https://www.newsweek.com/jared-kushner-ivanka-flipping-donald-trump-michael-cohen-1813107

Judge sets May 2024 date for Trump classified documents trial
Prosecutors Ask Witnesses Whether Trump Acknowledged He Lost 2020 Race Jared Kushner was questioned before a federal grand jury as prosecutors appeared to be trying to establish if the former president knew his efforts to stay in power were built on a lie. By Michael S. Schmidt and Maggie Haberman July 13, 2023, 4:33 p.m. ET Federal prosecutors investigating former President Donald J. Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election have questioned multiple witnesses in recent weeks — including Mr. Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner — about whether Mr. Trump had privately acknowledged in the days after the 2020 election that he had lost, according to four people briefed on the matter. The line of questioning suggests prosecutors are trying to establish whether Mr. Trump was acting with corrupt intent as he sought to remain in power — essentially that his efforts were knowingly based on a lie — evidence that could substantially bolster any case they might decide to bring against him. Mr. Kushner testified before a grand jury at the federal courthouse in Washington last month, where he is said to have maintained that it was his impression that Mr. Trump truly believed the election was stolen, according to a person briefed on the matter. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/13/us/politics/kushner-grand-jury-trump.html https://archive.is/PMIXQ#selection-351.0-545.256

Opinion Trying Trump under the Espionage Act will be trickier than you think By Baruch Weiss June 21, 2023 at 7:15 a.m. EDT Baruch Weiss, a former federal prosecutor in the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York, is a partner at Arnold & Porter and a criminal defense lawyer who handles Espionage Act cases. The charges in the indictment against Donald Trump might seem simple: Trump finished his term as president, became an ordinary citizen, yet retained 31 classified documents that, under the Espionage Act, he should have returned to the government upon demand. He compounded his wrongdoing by lying and obstructing. But as a former federal prosecutor and a defense attorney who has handled Espionage Act cases, I can tell you that prosecutions under that law are tricky. And Trump’s will be extraordinarily so. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/06/21/trump-prosecution-espionage-act-tricky/ https://archive.is/UJhXJ#selection-409.0-585.194

Trump appeals verdict finding him liable for sexual assault
Sure but that retrial motion had nothing to do with the appeal which will be before a panel of judges and not Judge Kaplan.

5 things you love most about Thailand.
This is the main thing I love about Thailand and it dwarfs any remaining four. From The Shawshank Redemption: Andy: You know what the Mexicans say about the Pacific? Red: No. Andy: They say it has no memory. That’s where I want to live the rest of my life. A warm place with no memory. In Thailand, nobody really knows who I am and about my past life unless I choose to tell them.

Sure but that adage is usually to work the other way around: "Justice delayed is justice denied" is a legal maxim. It means that if legal redress or equitable relief to an injured party is available, but is not forthcoming in a timely fashion, it is effectively the same as having no remedy at all. Usually applied to when the defendant is hurt by delay -- not when the defendant WANTS delay. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justice_delayed_is_justice_denied

From the above: Separate from his motion for a new trial, Trump is also contesting the verdict before a federal appeals court. That appeal remains pending.

Trump says he's been indicted in classified docs probe
For me, the prospect of whether Trump gets convicted or not for any of these actual or possible criminal or civil charges extent P-A-L-E-S against the notion of Trump again being elected President in 2024.

Trump says he's been indicted in classified docs probe
And as in the linked article, much of these ideas are not new or conjured by Trump, some date back to even President Reagan -- the Conservative think tanks et al have just been waiting for the proper vessel to come along.

People on here may consider Trump to be a joke. But there are persons behind him that would use Trump as President (again) as a vehicle to promote a series of vast government overhaul measures that are definitely NOT a joke. (from Maggie Haberman and NYT team) -- Trump and Allies Forge Plans to Increase Presidential Power in 2025 The former president and his backers aim to strengthen the power of the White House and limit the independence of federal agencies. July 17, 2023 Donald J. Trump and his allies are planning a sweeping expansion of presidential power over the machinery of government if voters return him to the White House in 2025, reshaping the structure of the executive branch to concentrate far greater authority directly in his hands. Their plans to centralize more power in the Oval Office stretch far beyond the former president’s recent remarks that he would order a criminal investigation into his political rival, President Biden, signaling his intent to end the post-Watergate norm of Justice Department independence from White House political control. Mr. Trump and his associates have a broader goal: to alter the balance of power by increasing the president’s authority over every part of the federal government that now operates, by either law or tradition, with any measure of independence from political interference by the White House, according to a review of his campaign policy proposals and interviews with people close to him. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/17/us/politics/trump-plans-2025.html https://archive.is/ZCaH9

Why don't we cook more?
As married for first time (ever) at age 70 I have been cooking for myself my whole life. These are some of my more recent additions to the repertoire: > Using Tefal pressure cooker for chick peas and red beans for Hummus and (no meat) frijoles > Using air fryer for karaage chicken and grilled shrimp > making knock-off KFC cole slaw > Using food processor for poached chicken-breast chicken salad > Massaman curry using LOBO spice packet
