  1. No problem. Letters<at>washingtonpost.com to reply to the former US Prosecutor experienced in Espionage Act cases.
  2. Opinion Trying Trump under the Espionage Act will be trickier than you think The charges in the indictment against Donald Trump might seem simple: Trump finished his term as president, became an ordinary citizen, yet retained 31 classified documents that, under the Espionage Act, he should have returned to the government upon demand. Trump’s defense attorneys will probably comb the internet to demonstrate that the information in the classified documents was public and therefore could not have harmed national security. The amount of material out there is remarkable, and based on my experience, it would not be unusual to find that much of the information in the 31 retained documents — especially the older ones — is already publicly available. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/06/21/trump-prosecution-espionage-act-tricky/ https://archive.is/UJhXJ NB as per Twitter: “retweets do not imply endorsement.”
  3. From the June 26 Court Order: " Upon review of the foregoing materials, the Government's Motion 33 is denied without prejudice," ... Without prejudice meaning it can be re-filed with amendments if the Prosecution so chooses.
  4. Legal experts said Cannon’s ruling on the witness list was routine and does not illuminate much about how she will handle the case. “There are going to be a lot of ministerial orders that are administrative or scheduling or procedural. This is a trial, and not everyone agrees how these things should be done,” said David Aaron, a former Justice Department lawyer who prosecuted national security cases. “So people shouldn’t get too excited about each one of these.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/06/26/trump-witnesses-cannon-order-pretrial/ .... As with most of the previous posts.
  5. Along the lines above : Opinion Before condemning the Titan’s pilot, consider his side of the story “You know, and I know, the cause of this accident,” thundered Lord Brabazon of Tara, a daring aviator who held the very first official pilot’s license in the United Kingdom. “It is due to the adventurous, pioneering spirit of our race. It has been like that in the past, it is like that in the present, and I hope it will be in the future.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/06/24/titan-submersible-pilot-stockton-rush-explorer/ https://archive.fo/P79An
  6. NBC News ran an article on the disparity of treatment. But look at the picture of a similar refugee boat: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/syria-migrants-boat-sinking-titanic-submersive-missing-rcna90336
  7. US NASA learned that hard lesson in 1986 Challenger disaster: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christa_McAuliffe
  8. Well not to belabor this, but it used to be after your 7162 letter back to USofA was accepted at the Thailand Post and moved out from Suvarnabhumi, it went into the great abyss as it could be days or up to a week before it would show up on the USPS system. Now it shows up on both systems at once:
  9. My last few trips to Bangkok have been following hip surgery. I was walking with a cane and an obvious limp. Every time I went on the crowded AirportLink or Skytrain, some Thai person would get up and offer a seat to me.
  10. And just to note that the "acceptance" that I posted above was from the USPS.com website -- not ThailandPost.co.th
  11. Yes -- I will presume it will do just as it did same routine last year when it was tracked to Wilkes-Barre, PA.
  12. From NY Times: Ship That Launched Ill-Fated Titan Submersible Returns to Newfoundland Kathy Fox, the chairwoman of the safety board, said that family members of the five people who were inside the submersible when it was destroyed were among the 41 people on the ship when it sailed on June 18. Another official with the safety investigation body said that 17 of the people aboard belonged to the ship’s crew. The family members were among the people who were interviewed on Saturday by the safety board. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/24/world/canada/polar-prince-titan-newfoundland.html https://archive.is/TauFj
  13. My 2023 7162 was mailed registered air mail at Thai Post yesterday. The tracking number is not just in the Thai system -- it is already in the USPS system: Latest Update Your item was accepted at 9:57 am on June 24, 2023 in THAILAND. International Transit Acceptance THAILAND June 24, 2023, 9:57 am
  14. It means the days of expats getting to come on here to let others know how little they paid for a procedure at a public hospital may not long last.
  15. Doctors whom you visit at a private hospital may soon say to expats more often: If you're not willing to let me earn a reasonable amount of money for a procedure at my private hospital rather than have me do it at my public hospital where I will earn far less for the same procedure, Go somewhere else.
  16. I spent a week inpatient at a big private hospital. Plenty of older nurses along with the young pretty ones. But the hottest of them all was the girl from the cashier's office. WOW!
  17. Makro. Opens at 6 AM. My kinda place.
  18. I have a Chula trained Thai doctor at private hospital here in Thailand who has received training in USA, Japan, France, etc., but is still here in Thailand.
  19. I received my 2023 7162 from Wilkes-Barre, PA, USA, by regular mail yesterday. That's how (registered) I will send it back. Same as last year.
  20. As in the OP they are leaving the public sector. They maybe just will not much longer tell an expat: Don't do your operation at my private hospital -- come see me at the public hospital.
  21. https://www.ft.com/content/7fb3fa61-42ec-4f5b-9eda-523dfb368e1e Smith has the reputation of being ready to prosecute a case as soon as an indictment is returned, Schwendiman ( Smith’s predecessor at the Kosovo tribunal), said. “You don’t leave loose ends, you are ready to go . . . And that should shake the boots of the people that are defending Mr Trump.” And with that, I will say, at least for now, I am done responding to the 5 or 6 member tag team response to my posts on this and related topics.
