  1. as mentioned in the post, it's out of my possibilities right now
  2. What about all this talk about crackdowns on ED visas? Is it really a thing?
  3. Situation: in and out of the country for the past three years (usually 3/6 months at a time) just used a multiple-entry 6 months touristic visa from Jan-Jul back in my home country for 3 months Jul-Oct have Thai girlfriend, currently with me in my home country with a 3 months visa, so we have to go back in Thailand to stay together planning on moving to Phuket so she can find a job there not broke, but not rich enough to have access to Elite visas and such First idea was to get an ED Visa to learn Thai (seriously, not just as a coverage), but during my research I read that Immigration is cracking down on ED visas and it's getting hard to get one. I would be okay also with the Muay Thai as well (practiced for a couple of years already and also fought), but I'm not really into continuing fighting and making training a priority right now. Does anyone have updated news or personal experience on this? What alternatives I have to stay there for at least another year?
  4. I see, but in terms of documentation and such, do I need anything other than my METV paper? What about the Laos visa, do I have to do it on arrival?
  5. Hey guys, joining the conversation as I've the same situation as OP. Is there any agency in Udon Thani that can assist you in this?
  6. The first 60 days of my multiple entry touristic visa (6 months) are about to end. I couldn't quite find information about the procedure to get out and back into the country, specifically, if I have to provide all the documentation as usual, how long should I stay out, etc... Also, I wonder if the famous border runs (within the same day) from udon thani to nong khai are still a thing? I've read contrasting reports about this...
  7. Looking for a school that can provide also online classes, because the province where i'm based doesn't have any legit school.
  8. I'm based in Khon Kaen and unfortunately there's no serious schools in the area (only pseudo schools that don't provide courses, only ed visa if you pay the bribes). I'm genuinely interested in learning Thai and stay here up to one year, as I'm living with my gf (thai) and she's finishing the university. Does anyone know a legit school that offers also online classes? For the reasons mentioned above, I cannot move to BKK or CM to attend in-person classes... i can of course go there once in a while for extension/bureaucratic needs. Any hints or recommendation is appreciated, finding a solution to this is getting very stressful
  9. Hi @thaisail, thanks for sharing your experience. I've been in Thailand for a while, arrived with tourist visa and then used a couple of COVID extensions. Now I can't get a new one. Your thread is the first piece of information that seems to show an alternative solution. Do you think in my case can work as well? Have you used Covid extensions before?
