RT-PCR test requirement on arrival in Thailand to remain in place
JonMac replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Our hotel has charged us 4,400 for 2 PCR tests; cheaper than at home. -
My wife's e-visa took 2 days and her Thailand pass was approved in less than 5 minutes.

Thailand Pass Is Up And Running
JonMac replied to ubonjoe's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Amazingly fast. Submitted my Thailand pass yesterday, when I checked my email about 10 minutes later the approval was there. I then submitted my wife's application, success, checked her email straight. away and the pass was there. -
European tourists clamoring to go to Samui, claim Thai media
JonMac replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
We've got our Tourist visas, just the Thailand pass to go then we'll be in Samui! -
Last Weds I submitted a request for a 60 day tourist visa. I realise that the form has to accommodate different reasons for going, but I was at odds about what to do with the question - enter name, details of the person inviting you. We have booked our favourite hotel in Samui, so I entered not applicable. Any comments? I haven't heard back yet.

Koh Samui Quarantine Free
JonMac replied to ryan15987532's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
This was the rule: Air ticket for a direct international flight to Koh Samui or international flight via Bangkok of Phuket that must be connected with approved sealed flights. -
I've been looking at their flight stats for a few weeks and LHR BKK seems consistently on time. What is the on board experience like?

I have seen several negative comments on here about Thai Airways. What problems do people have with them? I am considering flying with them LHR BKK in December. Thanks.

What is the longest tourist visa I can get?
JonMac replied to JonMac's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
DrJack54 - We usually visit in January and February. In the last 25 years we have visited Thailand about 30 times. We've seen all we want to see and now spend the whole visit at the resort, with walks to the nearby Fishermans Village. We are retired and just appreciate being away from the Winter gloom. When we go back to our favourite resort, the bed is decorated in flowers saying "welcome home," and that is what it feels like! -
We missed our Winter vacations in Samui in 2020 and 2021. We usually do 6 weeks visa on arrival. We would like to stay longer this Winter. I've been reading up on Samui Plus, which seems to be getting less stringent. We are Irish citizens. What length can we get? I'm a bit confused! I know we would need to get visas from London as the Dublin consulate is closed.
