  1. What's wrong with testing yourself and staying home if you are positive? Home test kits are now quite cheap in Thailand. I'm sure they're not 100% accurate but better than nothing.
  2. These two questions seem to be dodged by a lot of people. As far as I have heard, the vaccine just helps lessen the symptoms, it doesn't stop the spreading of Covid 19. I've also heard that most covid related deaths are from older people. Overweight people, elderly people, people with other health problems definitely need to take the vaccine. If this is true, why do people care if I take the vaccine? I'm a healthy, young guy who never gets sick. I know some younger people HAVE died from Covid, but they might also have died from the vaccine or died from the flu as well. Maybe they were just allergic to the spiked proteins or something. If I was misinformed, please correct me.
  3. Hello, OP here. I didn't receive any emails about replies to this thread. I come back and see that I missed a lot. haha. Anyway, an update about situation. I guess it was a false alarm. My manager told me that I would be replaced but he's not part of HR. A lot of companies around the world are using scare tactics. I talked with HR and they told me if schools don't actually open, I have nothing to worry about. I'll see what happens. I have a feeling that after this next big holiday is over, the cases will skyrocket and I'll be fine. I'll wait until the last minute before I do anything drastic. A friend of mine just renewed his visa and WP and no questions were asked about vaccination. Maybe I should apply at his school. ????
  4. Has your agency or school (if you're a direct hire) told you the date you'll be terminated if you don't get the vaccine? I have. A bit creepy. If I wasn't afraid of having to take more vaccines in the future, I'd maybe be ok taking a weaker, non mrna vaccine like Sinovac just to keep my visa, but I think this is just a start. Now the news is talking about booster shots. A better vaccine will come out later. Etc. I see where this is going. Please only answer if you're in the same situation as me. I've already heard all the arguments of why I should take the vaccine. I'm just curious what other teachers who prefer wait a bit are going to do.
  5. I didn't even take the time to read all these comments from people who know think they're doctors. All I want to say is teachers are in the same boat. Scary times. We have no choice and it's all about what the mainstream says. I miss the 80's and 90's.
