  1. Hi. I appreciate that there are numerous posts on this topic and apologies for opening this one but I’m not 100% sure what the rule is for the TM30 in Pattaya for those who enter on 30 day exempt stamp. Does your TM30 that you show at the immigration office to extend (15 days) need to be from the date you enter Thailand (new rule I read somewhere?) or is it OK to use a recent TM30 from a hotel short stay for a day or two? Many Thanks
  2. My daughters Uk passport expires in October. I was planning to take her to Uk this summer for holidays at end of June until August. Has anyone flown to UK on Uk passport with less than 6 months validity? She has a Thai passport as well (recently renewed) so would return to Thailand on this passport and obviously into Uk on her British passport. Uk gov website advises that passports must only be valid for duration of stay though I’d be a bit concerned how the individual airlines will see it. With this impending strike action, Im unsure to apply for passport renewal or do the holiday on her current passport. Thanks ????????
  3. It looks like the passport office will be going on strike for 5 weeks soon. Does anyway have experience in flying to UK with less than 6 months validity on UK passport? My daughters UK passport expires in October (her Thai passport has just been renewed) and am planning to take her back to Uk for summer holidays end June / start July. It says on Gov website, passports only need to be valid for duration of stay but I guess it might be how the airlines see it. I know for Thailand you need a passport with >6 months valid so her Thai passport will cover this. Thanks.
  4. Just to confirm, I’m travelling with my 9 years old Thai/UK daughter (she has 2 passports for each country) next week to UK. Previously past few times, I always got her mother (we aren’t married nor together) to sign her ID card and give consent for daughter to travel and this was always accepted. Has things changed with regards needing an “official” letter? Unfortunately her mother has Covid and is unlikely to be able to make it to the local district office before we travel. Thanks.
  5. No, it was full PCR test. Some airports give results in less than 2-3 hours. I know this as Ive done several myself.
  6. Spoke to my Thai mate who arrived today, was asked by his airline for PCR test before flying. (His flight was departing early morning on 1st April and arriving Thailand earlier this afternoon even though on their website it said that PCR not needed from 1st April of which he showed). Perhaps this new rule make take time to take effect / realisation with the checkin staff with the airlines… Luckily he had time to take PCR test at airport.
  7. Hi thanks for reply. Yes the original booking is still the same to Thailand. I just very recently booked another separate return flight from country I’m in now to Uk for 11 days.
  8. I just received my Thai Pass confirmation earlier today (flying out in 2 weeks), however Im a little confused if I need to alter the departure country details. The outbound booked flight is still the same (from an eligible country that I am in at present for 5 weeks already), however my plans slightly changed in that I will return to UK on Thursday for 11 days and then fly back to the country I am in presently and take this now connecting flight direct to Thailand. On my QR code Thai Pass it says Departure from the country I’m currently in. I don’t think this should be an issue but just wondered if anyone could confirm. (I tried to edit my details on ThaiPass but the button to edit them wouldn’t allow me for some reason.) thank you.
  9. I’m in process of applying for METV online E visa and have been searching for info regarding uploading multiple documents per section. By this I mean, I don’t understand / unsure if you are allowed to upload numerous separate documents for the “Supporting Documents” section under each category. In particular, the bank statements, as I only have 6 x original monthly statements (instead of 1 full statement). There is no indication if multiple uploads are accepted as each time I’ve tried to upload a separate file it seems to override the last. (Please note I would visit my bank but this is not possible at the moment and also I arrive in Thailand in 2 weeks so time is limited). For the “passport stamps” I created a single PDF with multiple pages and after uploading this, when you go to preview, it only displays the first page of the PDF. Furthermore, has anyone tried to submit a downloaded bank statement (without bank stamp) and been accepted? This would be ideal for me and save hassle but I can’t get to bank to get stamp and am unsure if they would accept this. Any other tips etc for applying using this online E Visa is greatly received. Thanks
  10. It states for online tourist visa application that short visits to see family are a valid reason. When you apply online for METV it says “…you need to prove you have genuine reason to visit Thailand on regular basis”…. This is the point I’m a bit wary on as they might say I will visit regularly to see my daughter and to get a Non O. Yes, I can apply for METV through local embassy online, but if they reject you METV application then the difference in money will not be refunded to that of the single entry. Anyway, I will apply for the METV l and see what happens. Worst case will hopefully get a single entry. Many Thanks again all.
  11. Thank you to everyone for advice. I think for near term I will apply for Multi Entry Tourist Visa to keep me right and give me time to sort out Multi O (have discussed this on a different thread end of last year). With regards the Multi Entry Tourist Visas, for evidence provided, would the embassy accept visiting my daughter as valid reason or would they reject this on insisting I get Non O, bearing in mind a single Non O is of no use to me as I only stay max 4 weeks at a time. As for Multi O online I did look a few months back but didn’t see this option. Thank you again. Much appreciated.
  12. Hi. From my understanding non Thais are allowed 2 x visa exemptions from land borders and unlimited travelling via airports per calendar year (though I seen one website say maximum of 6) Has anyone experienced any recent problems travelling through airports on visa exemption having done so a few times prior in the last 12 months? I’ve travelled 2 times last year and 2 times this year since March 2021. I work offshore and only get my flights a few days before travelling so between getting the ThaiPass and supplying the necessary info for an online visa (which I believe takes up to 10 working days) isn’t ideal. I get circa 4 weeks off at a time so obviously the 30 days exempt is usually good for me but I don’t want to arrive next time if this will be a problem. I intend once things get semi back to normality to head to Penang for Multi O based on Thai daughter. Many Thanks in advance guys.
  13. Joe, would it be viable to achieve a multi entry Non O visa (due to being parent) by means of: 1. Applying online for Single Entry Non O 2. Entering Thailand on Day 1. Applying for single re-entry stamp on this visa (probably at airport when leaving) 3. Departing Thailand on Day 40 for rotational work outside Thailand 4. Re-enter Thailand on Day 80-85 and immediately go to Immigration to apply for one year extension? Then if achieved I could apply for multi entry stamp for this visa? I don’t have permanent address in Thailand as I’m not with the mother though. many thanks ????????
  14. Thanks Tim and Joe for reply. To be honest given the current circumstances and unpredictable near term future of world situation, I’m reluctant to spend so much on the Elite when I have the option of the Non O at a much cheaper cost though probably a bit more hassle to achieve. I will look into Penang and hopefully get another Multi O there. Thanks again guys.
  15. Hello. I am a parent of daughter living in Thailand with her Thai mother. We are not together (never married), child lives and goes to school in Bangkok. I am on birth certificate and also legally the father by way of court order. I work rotationally outside of Thailand (5-6 weeks on/off). Due to Covid situation I have only returned to Thailand twice this calendar year, staying for approximately 31 days at a time. Asides from the frustration of having to extend the 30 day exemption for the purpose of just a day or 2 (I never want an overstay), I realise I will have to again get a proper visa to avoid future problems if I keep returning circa every 5-6 weeks. Around 3 years ago was the last time I got a Multi O from Penang. Obviously now with quarantine etc things aren’t as straightforward as hopping on a plane and returning next day (at least they weren’t). My predicament, to the best of my knowledge, is that it will be difficult for me to get an extension of a normal Single Non O in Bangkok as I won’t be in the country long enough each time? A single Non O on its own is of no use as I only stay maximum around 31 days. Could anyone advise what would be the best option? Do Penang still give Multi Os based on being Parent and what would criteria be if so? All info greatly appreciated. Thanks
