  1. I’m looking at building my sim inside a room at the rear of my house and I’m looking for some advice on the flooring. Ive bought a 5ft x 5ft hitting Matt to sit in the middle, but would also like to cover the rest of the floor (tiled at the mo) in either carpet or artificial grass. Which is the best option from an asthetics point and a safety durability.
  2. I am coming to pickleball from ping pong and tennis which I play at a high level. When I play tennis I can produce the power with my strokes so I use a very slow heavy players racket that gives me good control.(Prince Graphite OS) . When I play ping pong I impart a lot of spin on the ball. So I am looking for a pickleball paddle that is 1) slow/high control2) high spin3) heavy4) on the large side preferablyAny recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
  3. I've been screen printing my own shirts for a while now and finally think i have it pretty good. However, now I am looking to get polos and or button downs made and wondering where is a good place to get them embroidered well done and cheap? Also if there are any places to pick your own fabric and have them sewn up into a button down? Let me know thanks guys
  4. thank you so much for the suggestions,
  5. I don't suppose anyone can recommend a good Office chair can they? My company has decided to buy some rubbish chairs and I value my back/comfort more than spending a bit on a decent chair.Looking for something that has wheels that roll well , height adjustable, full back/head rest, arm rests, black leather, padded, suitable for an office environment, sturdy construction etc. Clearly there are thousands online matching that but thought I would see if anyone has any recommendations based on personal experience.Apologies if there is an Office Chairs sub-forum that I have missed!
  6. I'm planning an Extended Lord of the Rings marathon with a friend in a few weeks, and because I only have one nice chair (my regular computer/office chair), I'm searching for an excellent folding chair to use for the occasion. Do you have any suggestions?
  7. I got an estimate for solar panel installation on my roof. Aside from the environmental benefits, what do you think about the financial aspects of this: $34k up front cost $21k cost after refunds and tax credits 14.5y to pay back cost, based on their estimates (average annual energy usage, projected energy production, etc.) House is 18y old, roof 9y old. Plan to stay here for at least 20y more. Would you do it? Has anyone done it? Good/bad experiences?
  8. Here's the problem:This image shows the underside of a thin metal (probably steel) seat on an old aluminum straight-backed chair. The three yellow arrows indicate cracks in the seat. The cracks have broken through the thin (disintegrating) Best Portable Chairs padding layer on top, so now they pinch whatever pants/padding weighs down on them. No doubt the cracks will continue to spread until the seat eventually fails. The brownish-yellow dots are the thin top padding, visible through holes in the seat created by the manufacturer.I think the metal must be too thin to weld. It is not even as thick as the cardstock at the back of a pad of notepaper. I could try laying on a layer of resin and fiberglass cloth, on top and/or on the bottom, but I'm afraid the metal will continue to flex under load, eventually breaking the resin and severing the cloth.I could replace the seat with something fabricated from plywood, but I'd like to preserve the original parts of the chair if possible. Wood also wouldn't have the contoured shape of the metal seat, and it would make the lightweight chair heavier. It would require a lot more effort (and expense, no doubt, given the price of lumber these days) compared to something like fiberglass. Depending on how I made it, it might also raise the seat height, which is not desirable.I was looking at paint-on rubber treatments. They would be more flexible than fiberglass, but wouldn't do anything to stabilize the steel seat.I'm wondering if there's a kind of steel tape or strapping that would stay attached for years or some other paint-on treatment that would preserve the existing seat and its contoured shape. If not, is there some material that would function at least as well as plywood? My tools are basically a drill, a hand jigsaw, and a sanding block.
  9. Anyone have any idea what is the best treadmill if someone wants to spend around $1500?Which company do you recommend I look at as there are a whole bunch of brands out there?see treadmills from Sole, Proform, Nordictrack, Life Fitness and Horizon.
  10. Get a Sawyer Squeeze and a CNOC bladder for filthy water. For about 120 days, I've been using these two items. It's easy and quick. Steripens, gravity filters, and pump filters are all sluggish. Some people thread Sawyer filters onto Smart water bottles, but it's tough to pressurise the bottle sufficiently to extract the final 1/4 litre. A CNOC style bladder is also simpler to fill from some water sources than a Smart water Filter bottle.
