I've been using the Brother DCP-1610W for a few years and have been very satisfied with it. It prints, copies and scans, has a wifi interface that is easy to configure, and Brother has drivers for Linux that work without any tweaking. Brother also has an app that will let you print from your smartphone, a handy feature I use from time to time. Yes, you will lose the formatting if you convert PDF to MOBI in Calibre. It's especially a problem if your PDF contains tables or charts or graphs. You can display native PDF's on the Kindle, but since PDF is a static format, the pages will be scaled down to fit the Kindle screen (though you can pinch zoom to see details). So I mainly view PDF's (such as manuals) on my laptop rather than the Kindle. Paul Laew

There is a process in place for US Customs to collect duty on physical products entering the country, but how does Trump plan to tax digital content produced abroad? I went through this very process last year. For obvious reasons immigration cannot grant you an extension beyond the validity date of your current passport. So your extension will only be until Nov 7th 2026. When you obtain your new passport, the stamp for your current extension will be transferred to your new passport. But immigration won't extend your current extension without applying for a new extension of stay, just as you suspected. In retrospect, I would have renewed my passport before applying for a new extension. I ended up having to do 2 extensions in a 6 month period. Paul Laew

The easiest way is to first add the number to your contacts. You can do that within the Mytello app (click the vertical 3 dots for the menu option). If for some reason you don't want to add the number to your contacts, you can use the keypad to enter the number. You didn't mention the time frame for this weight gain. Was it in the last week? Or over the last 5 years? It's fairly normal to gain weight incrementally with age, and it takes extra work to manage weight with a slowing metabolism. It takes some experimenting to find the calories in/out equation that works for you (while maintaining the appropriate gin and tonic input). Paul Laew

I don't see a way to update passport number in the True app. Since Thai ID numbers are permanent identifiers, it's not a function required by the vast majority of their customers. In any case, True probably sees it as insecure. When I renewed my passport I had to visit a True shop in person to do the update. They made a copy of my passport and took my photo. Hope this helps. It appears that Fidelity is now able to send SMS to foreign numbers. I was able to receive an authorization code to my Thai mobile today. It didn't work a few months ago, so it seems to be a recent change. Check the mobile number you have on record with them. They now accept country codes in the phone section of your profile.
