I totally agree. I bought a dozen "Top Ten" nutty choc ices today at a 7-11. She put the first 6 in a special silvery "insulating" bag and sellotaped it up, and then put the remaining 6 in another silvery bag, also sellotaped up. She then put both silvery bags in a plastic carrier bag. Thanks, girl! ????

If I recall correctly, that was how it was explained to me, too - the thicker the cataract, the longer it takes to blast it away! ???? I wonder where all the bits go? ????

One thing I found surprising was how much cataract there was in my eyes. The doctor said there was a lot and that the operation would take a lot of time to remove it all. But, after he had finished one eye, I looked down at the surgery floor through the new lens and it was pure white. I then looked down through my eye with the cataract and the floor was yellow. And at home, the same thing - the shower wall was white through the new lens and yellow through the old.

I've never given Phuket Immigration a map with my extension documents. Last year they didn't even want the picture of me standing in front of my house with the house number displayed. This year (two days ago) I gave them the same picture and they kept it. And this year it was the quickest extension ever - they're certainly well organised in Phuket.

I don't buy lottery tickets and, you are correct, climate change is cyclical. Perhaps you weren't around in the 70's when "Global Cooling" was the scare mongering prediction of the day.

Phuket Town can be a bit stinky, but I live not too from the beach - about 700m. I used to walk to the top of Monkey Hill in Phuket Town and look down over the town - I don't recall seeing much of a haze. The biggest problem here is a d*mn bird called the "Asian koel". It's a cuckoo and wakes me up at about 6:30 as the sun rises. The one I have is very clever - as soon as I go outside with my air pistol he shuts up. He clearly remembers the close calls he's had with me in the past. ????
