  1. Ranong Border Visa Run Saturday Feb 24 noon, American Passport ,60 day se tourist visa and 30 day extension then a visa waiver from a border bounce in Nakhon Phanom to Laos. The imo in Ranong at the regular pier wanted a receipt from the hotel, which luckily I had, an onward ticket w/in the 30 days from Feb 24, but my onward ticket was 4 days over the 30 days soo the top official a guy wouldn't accept it and wanted me to change the ticket or get a new ticket, print it out and come back w/ the new reservation printed. I protested and he finally sed he would let me show him my new reservation on my mobile phone. sooo I went outa the office and booked a whole new ticket to Taipei on March 23. The woman imo sed she wanted it printed out, the top guy intervened and told her it was ok to just show my new reservation on my mobile phone. They stamped me out of Thailand after a frustrating hour of dickering w/ them. Then I did a trip over to Myanamar by boat w/ a Dutch guy who went thru exactly what I did w/ the Thai IMO's,ie book an onward ticket. We chartered 1 boat and skipper for what I thought we negotiated 400 thb there and back for 2 people. (btw don't forget ur crispy clean $10usd for the Mynamar Junta ) Everything went relatively smooth until we got back to the Ranong dock and I handed the boatman 400thb +200 thb tip, the boatman exclaimed 400thb each. I sed no it was 400 for us both. He reluctantly accepted w/ a wave of frustration and we checked back into Thailand and got our 30 day visa waivers. Beware other boat guys want 1000 thb /person. My Thai hotel owner sed he paid 400thb/boat w/4 farang the week before... I have been going to Ranong for visa runs for 19 years and this trip was the worst so far, but not the worst I ever had dealing w/ the Thai IMO's elsewhere. For many years I was doing solo trips over to Mynamar from the regular pier, then I started using the Andaman Casino boat w/o any problems but alas the Casino is closed. Chok di maak !

  8. I went to Nahkon Phanom too last week, "no go not possible" soooo I went to Mukdahan IO by the bridge. They gave me Covid 60 day ext no problem ,no questions ,pleasant and efficient ,except made me come back another day to get the stamp. I stayed at a B2 hotel and requested that they do TM 30 when I checked in,.... they didnt but IO called and got them to do TM 30 immediately and that was the only hiccup in the whole process., as it wasted an hour or so. KOP is not agreeable to foreigners IMO
  9. a Good Report Finally ! Today i went to Mukdahan IMO by friendship bridge, was greeted by smiling IMO's and in a very un-busy office had a very easy time getting all the necessary forms like Covid affidavit filled out and plenty of copies of stuff like even my original E-Visa from last Dec. signed. Biggest snafu and wasted an hour was my hotel did not do TM 30 last nite ,even after requesting the reception staff to do the TM 30 when we checked in . We myself in English and my Thai gf in Thai asked the staff but of course the lites were not on and no TM 30 when I went to get ext at 9 am sooo the IMO called the hotel and the manager actually went to the intown IMO and submitted the TM 30. This was the B2 chain hotel and the manager sed he hadnt done TM30's online only on the first day each month he submitted all the previous month's Tm 30's....interesting ! Anyways after waiting 1 3/4 hours I got a stamp in my passport that sed I should return on March 8 because the boss IMO wasnt in the office. and he had to signoff on the 60 day Covid ext. Quite frankly the whole system stinks but at least I got something outa this wait this time and the staff was very pleasant. Good luck to who ever is going to deal w/ Thai Immigration, Cheers ! MR btw I dressed smartly w/slacks and nice collared shirt maybe that helped a little too

  11. incase u didnt c my topic posted yesterday I reported I ....."went to get a 60day covid ext at Nakhon Phanom IMO today, after talking to 5 different IM officers "mai chai, not possible" I (politely) insisted that it was infact still possible upto March 25 and that farang were getting them in such places as Pattaya, Koh Tao, Phuket etc. They sed well just go there ! They were basically clueless and didnt want to contact Changwattana to verify it's possible. I entered Dec 12 on 60 day TR visa and got a 30 day standard visa ext in Prachuap Khiri Khan. at that time HuaHin and Chumphon and moderators on here all sed after standard ext I can apply for 60 day Covid ext. Anyone have any luck in Mukdahan,or Nong Khai or whatevers?? Please suggest something ....THK U, MR" Apparently like some have sed before its a total <deleted> shoot if the IMO wants to help keep tourists here or not, it's a shame if not , since I for one spend plenty of baht and support my thai friends when I am here and abroad too.

  13. UPDATE: I got the standard 30 day ext today at the Dan Singkorn PKK IO. I wish I could say it was painless. I showed up w/ a TM 30 from my landlady.(she was clueless about this form and how to fill it out but we managed) I had plenty of copies of Passport Data page and entry stamp w/ TM 6 BUT the guy would not accept a copy that wasnt an A4 page. I had I full page copy of passport info page (full sized image) and I cut the stamp/wTM 6 page down to 2/3 of an A4 page. It still was full size image but not a whole A4 page ! This guy wouldnt accept it, wouldnt make a copy on the machine literally next to him, he wasnt busy ,only 1 other alien there. All he did is tell me come back on Monday, he spoke really no English so he fiddles w/ his moble and gets it to say via speech to text that foreigners had to comply to Immigration Laws and rules ! What a rude, inhospitable and inflexible excuse for a human. If U have never been to Dan Singhorn in PKK its far from town in the hinterlands near the little used, except Burmese workers, border. and I was on a bicycle ! After riding 1.5 hours there I had to ride for almost an hour to Klong Wan to make a 1 baht copy and ride back in the hottest part of the day. BTW Im 70 and fit But the sun is brutal midday, anyways done deal. Hope I never c that guy again he was the same inhospitable officer 2 years ago and 3 years ago too !
  14. Great! thks for speedy reply Jack, makes my life easier as I can just go to the nearest IO at Dan Singkorn, Cheers !, Capt Miguel
  15. Hi I entered Dec 12 w/ 60 day TR Visa ending Feb 9, I called Chumpohn Imm Office, woman sed can only get 30 day regular ext then can apply for 60 day Covid ext. I also called Dan Singkorn in PKK province the woman there sed pretty much the same ...'just 30 day ext...' and also called HHQ Hua Hin they of course wanted an email from my US Embassy for 60 day Covid Ext. and no mention I'm only eligible for the 30 day ext first. Anybody know this info is true? ie only 30 day ext first and then 60 day after??
