  1. No I'm just on the 3rd floor so not up high at all. I'll try & test both the AIS and DTAC sims and see which works best.
  2. I have True Unlimited with 20 Mbps download right now. I'll check out both AIS and DTAC and go for a full speed package, it's worth paying an extra 100 B or two a month for.
  3. I'm staying in the Atlantis Resort Condo in Jomtein for a couple of months. I got a True SIM Card with a good Mobile Data internet deal 200 B a month, unlimited. I am guessing where I am staying must be a blackspot for the True mobile data signal as the mobile internet speed is terrible, and website loading so slow it is unworkable. Is there anyone here who has stayed in Atlantis Resort Condon before and figured out which mobile provider has the best signal in this area?
  4. That is what the wife wants to do. I'm concerned some over officious airline employee might veto that. We are checking in here in Dublin our home country through to BKK Via Paris, so might be a better chance of a reasonable view point here.
  5. Can anyone please tell me if I can apply for a Tourist e-visa (60 days) for my children using my own login/account on the Thai E-Visa portal? I've already applied for & have received my own 60 day Tourist Visa via my login/account on the portal, now I must apply for my two sons aged 13 and 9 years old. Does anyone know what to put in for the sections on Employment and the documents one is asked to provided? It is hard to know what to do because the options in the drop down menus apply only to adults or obviously the kids do not have bank or income details to provide!!! It is very confusing, and impossible to get guidance via email from the Thai Embassy in London.
  6. Thanks everyone. The Thai Embassy in Londo which also caters to Ireland, first told me to apply for an Emergency Travel document for the kids expired passports, then they said that will take too long to apply for, and now Embassy are telling me to allow my kids to travel on Irish passports but I must apply for the 60 day tourist visa for them. Damn headache. I am wondering if the airline we are flying to Thailand with will check if $14 online onward tickets to see if they are real or not? E.g. thinking of getting $14 online onward flight BKK to Kuala Lumpur return tickets so kids can go under 30 day on arrival visa exemption. Damn headache the whole thing.
  7. Does anyone know, if one can get a 30 day tourist visa on arrival if their flight return date is for 50+ days? Specifically my two kids are Thai citizens, we are flying out in June for 2 months approx. Their Thai passports have expired last year & we could not renew then due to Covid travel restrictions. They have Irish passports too, so I am wondering can they fly in as normal on Irish passport, get a 30 day visa on arrival? We will then get their Thai passports renewed asap. Or do I have to go get a tourist visa for them & all that rigmarole? Or would an understanding immigration officer at the airport allow them to gain entry to Thailand on expired Thai passport?
  8. Is that a 60 Day Stamp on arrival from immigration? No need to apply in advance? So then do 30 day extension at Immigration in Jonteim? Yes wife is Thai National as is our kids but all live here in Ireland, so we'll be visiting for the summer and will stay a total of 68 days. Thanks!
  9. Is it true there is a visa option coming for tourists for 90 days on arrival? My wife claims she saw something about this on a Thai news website. I am coming to visit in early June for 10 weeks, so I need a visa which will give me more than 60 days stay. What options have I go? Unfortunately in my country, Ireland, there is no Thai embassy & I think the previous Thai Consul office is not open any more, so this limits access to options and I am not going to send personal documents to the Thai embassy in the UK for a Non-O tourist visa (way too risky).
  10. Yes last time I spent the summer in Pattaya 2019, I bought a Thai mobile 4G card & I was very impressed with the internet speed, often up to 30MB depending on where I was. Plus it was great value too. This allowed me to use VOIP & Skype Out well. I might be lucky and find a condo with its own private internet, like True the comes via the TV. That would really help. The nature of my work, I often have up to 20 tabs open in the internet browser & the VOIP going, so I certainly need strong steady internet. Yes the coffee shops are an option, though I find I get distracted easily or if there's a lot of noise around it's hard to focus. I'll email the Bali High office place, though looks like it only operates 9 - 5pm whilst I need 3 - 11pm most week days. I'd guess a lot of those co-working places on the list have gone out of business over the last year. I'm coming in June, so maybe a few options will appear for me before then.
  11. I'm visiting Jomtien this coming summer June - August, & I will have to work remotely back into Europe during the week. Are there any Co-Working or Office Centres with strong internet near Jomtien? I need a place open from 3pm - 11pm to match European work hours. I used Anchor Co-Working in 2019 but I hear it has closed down (pity as was a great place). I'll rent a short-term condo in Jomtien, wondering if internet is weak in a condo building, would i be able to get my own strong internet put in for the 10 weeks I will be there? I make a lot of VOIP & video call so need strong internet. Any other ideas?
