  1. Hey guys, I just want to thank you for all the help you gave me over the past 7 months. Couldn't have done this without your advice. I am happily settling into retirement in Hua Hin and was granted a one extension on my Non O. Life is looking good.
  2. Hi, I will be arriving in BKK next Wednesday with a Type O Retirement 90 day Visa stamped in my British passport. I am just checking what other documents are needed at immigration. I have copies of the Visa, my passport, Health Vaccination Certificate and AirBnB (Hua Hin) rental copy. Plus about 30,000THB in cash. Anything else? Also what documents are needed to open a Bangkok Bank account in Hua Hin (where I will live)? I have the Type O Visa, plus rental contract. Thanks for your help, I couldn't do this without your advice.
  3. Ok thanks, I will look into Kasikorn. I have never used WISE to transfer funds. What are their fees like? I've always used XE.
  4. Hello everyone, I have two questions I'm hoping you can give me some advice on please. I will be entering Bangkok on a 90 day Non-Immigrant Type O Retirement VISA. When I get to Hau Hin I plan to apply to renew the VISA. My question is, will immigration at BKK Suvarnabhumi airport allow me to enter on a one way flight ticket? My other question is, what documents are needed to open a bank account (Krungsri Bank, Bangkok Bank, Siam Commerical Bank)? Many thanks for your help!
  5. Thank you everyone for your comments. They are helpful and I am grateful.
  6. Thanks for the link and your help. Yes, these are the companies the Royal Thai Embassy referred me to. I think you are right about the Sept 1 date, despite me telling them otherwise.
  7. Hi all, I could use some clarity on the health insurance needed for the OA Visa. The Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon tells me the insurance must include general illnesses, treatment of covid and sum insured not less than 3,000,000THB. When I contact the insurance companies for a quote they tell me I also need 400,000THB inpatient and 40,000THB outpatient. I think this is the old coverage rules or requirements for O Visa. I not planning to arrive in Thailand until October 2022 but I've got to get the application submitted. Any advice or experience with insurance for OA visas? Or even what Health Insurance company you used for an OA visa. Thanks in advance!
